Light up the Stars with New Pogis

Challenges are about to get a lot more rewarding! Starting Thursday, March 12, you’ll be able to win Pogis for completing Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenges on Pogo. What are Pogis? They’re special points you earn that unlock bonus rewards like Badges, power-ups and avatars.

Pogis go hand in hand with new Constellations. Think of Constellations as limited-time maps, and earning Pogis is how you progress through them. As you reach milestones on the Constellation, you’ll unlock rewards. You can even complete a Constellation multiple times, playing through Bronze, Silver and Gold reward levels.

There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s get some answers straight from the horse’s mouth. In this case, the horse happens to be the winged Pogisus, intrepid ambassador of all things Pogi.

Pogo Llama: Welcome to our extra special guest! Can you tell us who you are and what you do on Pogo?

Pogisus: Pleased to meet you! I am called Pogisus, your faithful Pogi ambassador! You’ll find me flying around the great Constellations glowing in the sky. Other times you’ll find me eating carrots… magical carrots, specifically.

Pogo Llama: A flying horse? Of course! So what exactly are Pogis?

Pogisus: It’s a brand-new way to make all your victories add up! Pogis are kind of like extra points you win for completing Challenges. So not only do you get the normal rewards for completing Challenges, you’ll also earn Pogis!

Pogo Llama: How does this new system work? How will I earn Pogis?

Pogisus: Accumulating Pogis should come naturally to most Pogo players. New Challenges will award Pogis, including Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges and Mix-n-Match Challenges. Some Challenges will reward more Pogis than others.

Pogo Llama: What are Constellations?

Pogisus: I was hoping you would notice my “Ask Me About Constellations” button! Quite simply, Constellations are where you turn your Pogis into rewards. Each Constellation gives you a limited amount of time to fill in all the stars and win Badges, power-ups and more. The first Constellation will light the skies over Pogo for 60 days. All Constellations will have three different levels — Bronze, Silver and Gold — with 15 tiers of rewards.

One thing to keep in mind: Once a Constellation has ended, your Pogi count resets. Constellations are a bit like sporting seasons — each one a chance to start fresh and win all over again!

Pogo Llama: How will I know how many Pogis a Challenge is worth?

Pogisus: The Challenge description will let you know how many Pogi points to expect. Once Pogis are out in the wild, all new Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenges will reward them! Some older ones will award them too. To be sure, look at the back of each Challenge tile you’re considering activating.

Pogo Llama: What do Pogis look like?

Pogisus: Like golden stars that shimmer and shine!

Pogo Llama: Where can I find my Pogi count?

Pogisus: Fear not, for your Pogi count will be displayed across the Pogo site! Most notably, you’ll see your current Pogi count in the site header, next to your Pogo Gems.

Pogo Llama: Where can I show off my Pogi status?

Pogisus: You will have a lovely frame around your avatar that shows off your level in the current Constellation, from Bronze to Silver to Gold. While you can choose your avatar, you cannot choose your frame. Those must be earned by completing the Constellation.

Pogo Llama: How can I check my Pogi status for each Constellation?

Pogisus: Each Constellation will have an illuminating map so you can plan your next move and fly boldly to glory.

Pogo Llama: What do I get for earning Pogis?

Pogisus: A medley of rewards await the victors, including power-ups, boosters, Badges and avatars!

Pogo Llama: Where will I receive my reward?

Pogisus: You’ll receive a notification when you’ve collected enough Pogis to earn a reward. Your rewards will be delivered automatically!

Pogo Llama: How many Pogis do I need to reach each tier?

Pogisus: This will depend on the Constellation. Each will be a little different, so make sure to read all the details before you start your conquest of the stars.

Pogo Llama: Will players be able to earn more Pogis by redoing Challenges or do they only earn them the first time?

Pogisus: Only once! The first time you complete a Challenge, you earn Pogis. You will not be able to re-activate a Challenge to earn additional Pogis.

Pogo Llama: You mentioned not all Challenges are the same when it comes to rewarding Pogis?

Pogisus: That’s correct. Harder Challenges will generally earn you more Pogis.

Pogo Llama: How will the rewards for completing Constellations work?

Pogisus: They are predetermined, so once you earn the required Pogis and complete a Constellation, you’ll win the Bronze level rewards. You can continue earning more Pogis to reach the Silver and Gold levels and win even more rewards.

Pogo Llama: What will happen to my tokens?

Pogisus: Your final token count will be immortalized and enshrined forever in your profile. And, as a special bonus, we will be awarding players extra bonus Challenges based on their token counts. The more tokens, the more Challenges. These Challenges will offer a high number of Pogis as rewards, letting you light up the Constellations faster. You can even save them for a later Constellation if you want.

Pogo Llama: Can Pogis be saved to earn a higher prize?

Pogisus: Pogis accumulate when there is an active Constellation. You don’t spend them and your count just goes up and up!  You earn rewards as you reach certain Pogi milestones. You can think of the Constellation as a visual map. The more Pogis you earn, the further you travel on the map!

But, as I mentioned before, your Pogi count resets with each new Constellation.

Pogo Llama: Thanks so much for your time! It’s not often I get to interview a flying horse.

Pogisus: There aren’t many of us, so I’m not surprised. But happy to stop by! I can’t wait to see everyone start earning Pogis on March 12. Good luck to all!

We do want to acknowledge the amazingly high token counts many of you achieved. Anyone with an active Club Pogo account on March 9 will be eligible for the free Booster Challenges, which will be given out starting March 12. The number of Challenges awarded will be based on token counts.

As mentioned by our flying friend, these special Challenges will be packed with plenty of Pogi points to help you light the skies faster. Use them whenever you want. As new Constellations will arrive every couple months, you can even save them for later.

  • Will a game award page be added to Early Access Challenge Central for awards such as rank in individual games. Currently the only way to know what game awards are available is the “stats” page which does show all the awards such as jewel colors obtained awards in Jewel Academy. In Classic Pogo opening the challenge tab these badges were displayed down the right side of the page

  • I am going to miss pogo & my friends but you at e a sports don’t care about us & why change things on us like do away with slots that is all I play.

    • Hi Nugp,

Have you tried the brand new Pogo Slots game that came out earlier this week?

You may see this is a copy/paste message and that is because I wanted to be sure to get back to as many of you as possible with the information provided. Thank you for commenting on the blog. I appreciate your passion for Pogo.
It is my hope that you do not cancel your Pogo membership. You’re an appreciated part of the Pogo Community and it would be a heartfelt loss to us. However, if you do choose to cancel, I suggest that you come back from time to time and check out all the new things we have on the way. As a registered user, you can enjoy some games and be up to date.
The Pogo team and I understand you are upset due to some of your favorite Flash games and features retiring. This decision was made as Java and Flash are being phased out across the Internet. While the retirement date of Flash is stated as end of 2020, please understand that the makers of Flash, Adobe, are retiring features within Flash prior to that. These features may be needed to play Pogo games. The Pogo team is working overtime to transfer over player-favorite Flash and Java games before this happens. This also means they need resources to do so and supporting Java and Flash games are not conducive to that.
The even better news is your favorite Java or Flash games and features may not be gone forever. The team and I are here listening and reading your game requests for potential future HD transfer. We have a number of new and transferred games in the works. I will always keep you posted on the Pogo Insider with all game developments.
Thanks again for reaching out to me about your feelings on the Flash game retirements. I am here and listening to you all.
PS – Please read here on the future of Pogo. You’ll be happy to read about some of the features you enjoy!

  • I have conversed with so many friends I have made on this site about the future of Pogo. Most of us have decided that this will more than likely be our last year on your site. It is not just the changes that have us upset but also the limitations that are happening. Most of us have a high number of tokens that we have earned and despite what you say about awarding us more challenges we are still losing them. Really sorry to see this happen. This site used to be a lot more fun.

  • Hi,
Been member of pogo most 20 years. Am troubled that our minis which we have worked hard on in the mini mall will disappear, cost us time and money. It was a big part of the fun!!
Its true, it looks like childs play, Im sure a lot of the regular and older players will not renew.
Heard from so many and read so much on this new stuff. It looks really bad.
Please return us to the more grown up version, we are not children.
    Thanks, BoReMi2

  • Looks like a kids cartoon,,WANT POGO BAD THE WAY IT WAS,,,LOVED BOGGLE DASH and chatting to all my friends

  • this pogo is like for kids under 15 an i joined for interaction with real people the new pogo is ok but nothing like what it was. so i guess all good things must come to a end,an all that is bad will keep going.

  • Was this written by and for a 5 year old?

  • This all sounds great. A little complicated but we will all get used to it. Thank You for explaining it for use POGISUS.

  • This new reward system sounds great and change is always good!

  • can not stil play games of all of them

  • I am saddened that Pogo is making all these changes.I see nothing wrong with the way it is now, why change it?I have been a member of club pogo for 19 years and I love chatting with friends during a good game.I will not be renewing my membership to Club Pogo because of all these new changes you have planned I will continue to play the games that I can, but will not be paying for games at any time.

    Thank You
    J Gendron

  • So on March 12th what happens to the Gems I have already purchased?

  • This is so childish how dumb do you think us older folks are?

  • I’m a little confused. First it says But, as I mentioned before, your Pogi count resets with each new Constellation. Then it says….As mentioned by our flying friend, these special Challenges will be packed with plenty of Pogi points to help you light the skies faster. Use them whenever you want. As new Constellations will arrive every couple months, you can even save them for later………Can you please clarify?????? Thanks. Looking forward to trying the pogis out!!!

  • I would rather have pogo the way it was, bring back the games we lost, DCR , pool among others. I am not renewing when my membership is up. I talked to a lot of my friends and they’re doing the same. I get the technology is changing but it would be better if the games were kept, I am sure you can find a way to keep them and bring others back. I also am not a fan of the 3D games. I look at the members in the rooms when I log in , in the morning there is only a quarter of the people when I first started playing in pogo in 2002 when I started playing under this screen . My other screen name is 2000 it is a very long time that I have been playing on this site. But for now I am leaving when my membership expires, maybe I’ll come back if things improve.

  • It was fun for the many yeas I played in pogo, but alas I will not renew my membership in club pogo, you have ruined the fun an friendships I have made with these games you now have. No chat boxes an games children play. an what about all the tokens players have?
Hope you find out you made a mistake with these children games

    • Hello,

  • I’m 84 yrs old and need a lot of help to learn how to play new games.–I live for POGO.

  • I worked hard to earn tokens and ave been here for years, this unfair, childish approach to a reward system and the fact we loose most all our popular games, you leave me little choice but to leave. I wish you luck keeping older players.

  • I miss playing Pinochle. please bring it back

  • Please do not do away with texas holdem or the classic view!

  • I don’t like it at all you taking games away i play every day. Now my friends and I have to find a new site that have are games. I just wish I had not renewed my membership.

  • you are taking away good games and leaving us with childs games i have been a member for 20 years and i will probably not renew my membership

  • What is going to happen to our chat and mini’s?

    • I have great news for you because Chat is currently in development! Please read here for more information.

. Minis are still fully available on the classic site. Please click here to learn more about Classic Library and how you can use your Mini as an Avatar on Early Access. Thank you!

  • Do my earned badges carry forward to Pogis or do I lose them. Thank you for information.

  • i still cant get jungle gin to load only goes 28% an stops. I reported but got no answer.blastsoliitaire will not load at all. I reported but got no answer.. not very happy with early access games ….

  • Hi Guys and Gals, I believe that all the members of Pogo are going to love this Pogois. especially the Badge Lovers. Can one of ya’ll tell me how to access my collection in Badge Central in the Early Access mode? I have to go back to Classic under the Badge Tab to activate a challenge in My Collection.

    • Hi Lailia55,

      Thank you for your feedback!

To find Challenges on Early Access, please select “Challenges” from the drop down menu and then scroll down to the “browse all challenges” feature and you can filter out to exactly what you’re looking for. You can also view your Badges under My Profile and then select My Rewards.

  • Does this include Pogo Bowl?

    Thank you

  • This is horrific. Who is your audience that you are trying to sell this infantile, boring game play idea to? Seriously. Older women?? They are too smart to like this. Just terrible. The membership numbers and your stock has plummeted. Pogo will learn the hard way. Good luck.

  • Does that mean there won’t be anymore tokens? What will happen to the tokens?

    • Thank you so much for your question about tokens.

As stated in a May 2018 Pogo Insider, tokens will be removed from Pogo games in the future. I’d like to let you all know that the number of tokens you’ve earned during your time at Pogo will still be visible on Early Access; this feature is now available in your Classic Library. The ability to earn more tokens will be ongoing after launching Pogis. We will be slowly limiting the ways to earn more tokens so we can concentrate on the Pogi experience and it’s rewards.

Additionally, we just launched a new reward system called Pogis. Please click here for more information on that.
Please keep an eye on the Pogo Insider and Blog page for all of the most up to date information on all things Pogo. Thank you!

  • sounds hard still don’t understand at 73 Im slow at new things!

  • wish I could get to my page wastwofor 404t had to start all over as twofor 12lost all my badges that’s not far

    • Hello,
I am so sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Unfortunately I’m unable to troubleshoot here on the blog. Please reach out to EA Help and they will be able to assist you. Thank you!

  • Just a general comment: Thank you Pogo for a good 20 years but the childish aspects of the new Pogo are not for mature adults. Hope you can weather the storm

  • I thank you for all the information that you have provided. I don’t totally understand, but I’m sure as time goes on I will figure it out. I’m trying to be excited about all the changes made. I have 2 friends that say they will leave pogo because of all the changes. I tried to explain to them that it will all be fine. I tell them to remember how it was learning Pogo when we first started.. I’m planning on having fun… I enjoy figuring things out, it makes life enjoyable for me any way as it keeps me from getting bored. I like some of the new games introduced over the past few weeks. I find them fun. (Snowbird solitaire and solitaire blitz.) Jungle Gin used to be one of my favorites. I’m thankful that it has been brought back. the only trouble that I have with it is that I don’t win as many games as I used to. I love having jigsaw treasure hunter back. It made me sad that it was gone. I had a problem with it for a time and called for support. I was helped right away and all is good again. LOL Anyway, I thank you for all the hard work you have done making the new pogo interesting.

    • HI Geminisandylee53,
Thank you so much for your feedback and support of Pogo. I truly believe in Pogo and Early Access and glad you are a part of that.

      Take good care.

  • It seems to me that Pogo is turning into a kids haven. I joined Pogo many years ago because there were few kids playing. What is Pogo’s goal?

    Alex

  • So if we have over 200 million tokens. How many can we expect to get

  • I wish you would leave our pogo minis alone . we all spent alot of money buying stuff for them.and now your removing that. Its not right.most of Pogo is a older adding all this new stuff is just mixing them up. My mom is one of them .I don;t know why you didnt leave well enough alone. we all pay our yearly fee’s and have bought badges over the years and stuff from the mini mall. I am thinking this will be my last year with pogo , as i used it for relaxing and socializing with people from all over usa and Uk. most ive known over 15 years. we cant even play a game together on here other then domino’s , we used to play gin, pool, bowling . now we cant even see each other . its sucks

    • Hello,

  • I DO NOT LIKE THE NEW GAMES THEY ALL SEEM TO BE SOLITAIRE CARD GAMES. I WILL NOT RENEW UNLESS YOU KEEP EVERYBODY WIND BINGO. THANK YOU
