Light up the Stars with New Pogis

Challenges are about to get a lot more rewarding! Starting Thursday, March 12, you’ll be able to win Pogis for completing Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenges on Pogo. What are Pogis? They’re special points you earn that unlock bonus rewards like Badges, power-ups and avatars.

Pogis go hand in hand with new Constellations. Think of Constellations as limited-time maps, and earning Pogis is how you progress through them. As you reach milestones on the Constellation, you’ll unlock rewards. You can even complete a Constellation multiple times, playing through Bronze, Silver and Gold reward levels.

There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s get some answers straight from the horse’s mouth. In this case, the horse happens to be the winged Pogisus, intrepid ambassador of all things Pogi.

Pogo Llama: Welcome to our extra special guest! Can you tell us who you are and what you do on Pogo?

Pogisus: Pleased to meet you! I am called Pogisus, your faithful Pogi ambassador! You’ll find me flying around the great Constellations glowing in the sky. Other times you’ll find me eating carrots… magical carrots, specifically.

Pogo Llama: A flying horse? Of course! So what exactly are Pogis?

Pogisus: It’s a brand-new way to make all your victories add up! Pogis are kind of like extra points you win for completing Challenges. So not only do you get the normal rewards for completing Challenges, you’ll also earn Pogis!

Pogo Llama: How does this new system work? How will I earn Pogis?

Pogisus: Accumulating Pogis should come naturally to most Pogo players. New Challenges will award Pogis, including Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges and Mix-n-Match Challenges. Some Challenges will reward more Pogis than others.

Pogo Llama: What are Constellations?

Pogisus: I was hoping you would notice my “Ask Me About Constellations” button! Quite simply, Constellations are where you turn your Pogis into rewards. Each Constellation gives you a limited amount of time to fill in all the stars and win Badges, power-ups and more. The first Constellation will light the skies over Pogo for 60 days. All Constellations will have three different levels — Bronze, Silver and Gold — with 15 tiers of rewards.

One thing to keep in mind: Once a Constellation has ended, your Pogi count resets. Constellations are a bit like sporting seasons — each one a chance to start fresh and win all over again!

Pogo Llama: How will I know how many Pogis a Challenge is worth?

Pogisus: The Challenge description will let you know how many Pogi points to expect. Once Pogis are out in the wild, all new Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenges will reward them! Some older ones will award them too. To be sure, look at the back of each Challenge tile you’re considering activating.

Pogo Llama: What do Pogis look like?

Pogisus: Like golden stars that shimmer and shine!

Pogo Llama: Where can I find my Pogi count?

Pogisus: Fear not, for your Pogi count will be displayed across the Pogo site! Most notably, you’ll see your current Pogi count in the site header, next to your Pogo Gems.

Pogo Llama: Where can I show off my Pogi status?

Pogisus: You will have a lovely frame around your avatar that shows off your level in the current Constellation, from Bronze to Silver to Gold. While you can choose your avatar, you cannot choose your frame. Those must be earned by completing the Constellation.

Pogo Llama: How can I check my Pogi status for each Constellation?

Pogisus: Each Constellation will have an illuminating map so you can plan your next move and fly boldly to glory.

Pogo Llama: What do I get for earning Pogis?

Pogisus: A medley of rewards await the victors, including power-ups, boosters, Badges and avatars!

Pogo Llama: Where will I receive my reward?

Pogisus: You’ll receive a notification when you’ve collected enough Pogis to earn a reward. Your rewards will be delivered automatically!

Pogo Llama: How many Pogis do I need to reach each tier?

Pogisus: This will depend on the Constellation. Each will be a little different, so make sure to read all the details before you start your conquest of the stars.

Pogo Llama: Will players be able to earn more Pogis by redoing Challenges or do they only earn them the first time?

Pogisus: Only once! The first time you complete a Challenge, you earn Pogis. You will not be able to re-activate a Challenge to earn additional Pogis.

Pogo Llama: You mentioned not all Challenges are the same when it comes to rewarding Pogis?

Pogisus: That’s correct. Harder Challenges will generally earn you more Pogis.

Pogo Llama: How will the rewards for completing Constellations work?

Pogisus: They are predetermined, so once you earn the required Pogis and complete a Constellation, you’ll win the Bronze level rewards. You can continue earning more Pogis to reach the Silver and Gold levels and win even more rewards.

Pogo Llama: What will happen to my tokens?

Pogisus: Your final token count will be immortalized and enshrined forever in your profile. And, as a special bonus, we will be awarding players extra bonus Challenges based on their token counts. The more tokens, the more Challenges. These Challenges will offer a high number of Pogis as rewards, letting you light up the Constellations faster. You can even save them for a later Constellation if you want.

Pogo Llama: Can Pogis be saved to earn a higher prize?

Pogisus: Pogis accumulate when there is an active Constellation. You don’t spend them and your count just goes up and up!  You earn rewards as you reach certain Pogi milestones. You can think of the Constellation as a visual map. The more Pogis you earn, the further you travel on the map!

But, as I mentioned before, your Pogi count resets with each new Constellation.

Pogo Llama: Thanks so much for your time! It’s not often I get to interview a flying horse.

Pogisus: There aren’t many of us, so I’m not surprised. But happy to stop by! I can’t wait to see everyone start earning Pogis on March 12. Good luck to all!

We do want to acknowledge the amazingly high token counts many of you achieved. Anyone with an active Club Pogo account on March 9 will be eligible for the free Booster Challenges, which will be given out starting March 12. The number of Challenges awarded will be based on token counts.

As mentioned by our flying friend, these special Challenges will be packed with plenty of Pogi points to help you light the skies faster. Use them whenever you want. As new Constellations will arrive every couple months, you can even save them for later.

  • The new reward system is just too complicated. Pogo is certainly going downhill. I know I am not the only one that feels this way. What a shame.

  • i dislike the new pogo it totally sucks and never will engage in the new once a few more games go

  • Oh, I dunno, the Pogis sound kind of interesting.

  • The new games and game graphics seem to be designed to draw younger, more hip players and you have forgotten the thousands of “seniors” who have enjoyed Pogo for years.

  • how do I stay connected with mt friends on Monopoly

  • Thank you.

  • I asked a question why do I have to wait for an answer. It was a simple question and it says waiting foe moderation???

    • Hi dillonsgammy,
I apologize for the delay in response. I had a number of blog comments over the last few weeks. :)
Your original question has now been answered. Thank you.

  • You’ve taken our Mini’s that many people actually paid money for, you are removing the useless coins but they are still a right of time and passage that we’ve earned, you are removing chat in the majority of games (only one I’ve found it in so far is Jungle Gin and my wife and I were in there ALONE in a locked room, I said something that might be **** out in an open room and I was threatened by a bot that I’d be kicked out if I kept talking like that…. REALLY?? In a closed room?? WE ARE ADULTS.

Also removing the ability to show our badges. We’d like the CHOICE to be individuals, not have a handful of “avatars” that you shove at us and we have no choice but to use. I play on classic whenever possible as frankly, you can take your new pogo and stick it. I agree with a lot of what MajorStryder said. There are VERY few games I want to play any more and I highly dislike the new layout. I’ve watched membership dwindle since I joined back in 2003. When I first started, there were games you could not even get into on challenge days due to the number of players. On average they’re would be upwards of 225,000 people online. At the time I’m writing this there is just over 34,000 online. Your prices kept going up, you create all these games that require us to “purchase” the other episodes, you create so many similar games (in the seek and find genre) and “give” us the first one… It was $25 a year and all games where available. Now it’s $40 (expecting another hike soon) and more and more “pay for” games popping up. Greed started the downfall. You charge more and more and give us less and less, and then take away the things that made Pogo, Pogo. The ability to talk, meet people, make friends. I met my wife on here, but without chat, that kind of thing won’t be happening much more. Also, what good does it do to be able to tag someone and go to a room if you can’t talk????? Before long Pogo will be a thing we will remember as what we used to do. My membership is coming to an end soon. About all I’ll miss is the Pogo daily Sudoku, Mahjong Gardens and a couple of the other games. I’m so sick of the same challenges that keep coming around (quinn’s stinking aquarium being the most hated) and while Quinn’s is a mahjong game, you made it so hard by only giving one tile spot that I’ve been stuck for months on the same level and I’ll be danged (can’t cuss I’ll get kicked out) if I’ll spend gems on “cheats” to get through it. My wife has given up on some of the badges, one in particular Quinn’s to get 150 lock tiles??? You want to make money? Take things back to more like they were. All this “changing technologies crap” is getting old, you telling me you’re people aren’t intelligent enough to make chat boxes? Keep the old badge books that we PAID for? Allow us to use our mini’s or badges we won to be individuals??
I’ll be surprised to see this in here. suffice it to say soon I’ll be an ex pogo player. Just so I mention the subject talked about here, I too say you can stuff the pogis.

FYI I AGREE WITH THE MAJOR.

  • I have read everything about pogis. I understand none of it. It sounds really stupid and not interesting

  • He isn’t the only pogo player to feel that way..Have you even noticed how many players have quit..We all have our favorite games and did you ask us about getting rid of games..NO. The only reason I stayed was because I was told you were bringing in some new slot games..If not I too am out of here.
