Light up the Stars with New Pogis

Challenges are about to get a lot more rewarding! Starting Thursday, March 12, you’ll be able to win Pogis for completing Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenges on Pogo. What are Pogis? They’re special points you earn that unlock bonus rewards like Badges, power-ups and avatars.

Pogis go hand in hand with new Constellations. Think of Constellations as limited-time maps, and earning Pogis is how you progress through them. As you reach milestones on the Constellation, you’ll unlock rewards. You can even complete a Constellation multiple times, playing through Bronze, Silver and Gold reward levels.

There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s get some answers straight from the horse’s mouth. In this case, the horse happens to be the winged Pogisus, intrepid ambassador of all things Pogi.

Pogo Llama: Welcome to our extra special guest! Can you tell us who you are and what you do on Pogo?

Pogisus: Pleased to meet you! I am called Pogisus, your faithful Pogi ambassador! You’ll find me flying around the great Constellations glowing in the sky. Other times you’ll find me eating carrots… magical carrots, specifically.

Pogo Llama: A flying horse? Of course! So what exactly are Pogis?

Pogisus: It’s a brand-new way to make all your victories add up! Pogis are kind of like extra points you win for completing Challenges. So not only do you get the normal rewards for completing Challenges, you’ll also earn Pogis!

Pogo Llama: How does this new system work? How will I earn Pogis?

Pogisus: Accumulating Pogis should come naturally to most Pogo players. New Challenges will award Pogis, including Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges and Mix-n-Match Challenges. Some Challenges will reward more Pogis than others.

Pogo Llama: What are Constellations?

Pogisus: I was hoping you would notice my “Ask Me About Constellations” button! Quite simply, Constellations are where you turn your Pogis into rewards. Each Constellation gives you a limited amount of time to fill in all the stars and win Badges, power-ups and more. The first Constellation will light the skies over Pogo for 60 days. All Constellations will have three different levels — Bronze, Silver and Gold — with 15 tiers of rewards.

One thing to keep in mind: Once a Constellation has ended, your Pogi count resets. Constellations are a bit like sporting seasons — each one a chance to start fresh and win all over again!

Pogo Llama: How will I know how many Pogis a Challenge is worth?

Pogisus: The Challenge description will let you know how many Pogi points to expect. Once Pogis are out in the wild, all new Daily, Weekly and Premium Challenges will reward them! Some older ones will award them too. To be sure, look at the back of each Challenge tile you’re considering activating.

Pogo Llama: What do Pogis look like?

Pogisus: Like golden stars that shimmer and shine!

Pogo Llama: Where can I find my Pogi count?

Pogisus: Fear not, for your Pogi count will be displayed across the Pogo site! Most notably, you’ll see your current Pogi count in the site header, next to your Pogo Gems.

Pogo Llama: Where can I show off my Pogi status?

Pogisus: You will have a lovely frame around your avatar that shows off your level in the current Constellation, from Bronze to Silver to Gold. While you can choose your avatar, you cannot choose your frame. Those must be earned by completing the Constellation.

Pogo Llama: How can I check my Pogi status for each Constellation?

Pogisus: Each Constellation will have an illuminating map so you can plan your next move and fly boldly to glory.

Pogo Llama: What do I get for earning Pogis?

Pogisus: A medley of rewards await the victors, including power-ups, boosters, Badges and avatars!

Pogo Llama: Where will I receive my reward?

Pogisus: You’ll receive a notification when you’ve collected enough Pogis to earn a reward. Your rewards will be delivered automatically!

Pogo Llama: How many Pogis do I need to reach each tier?

Pogisus: This will depend on the Constellation. Each will be a little different, so make sure to read all the details before you start your conquest of the stars.

Pogo Llama: Will players be able to earn more Pogis by redoing Challenges or do they only earn them the first time?

Pogisus: Only once! The first time you complete a Challenge, you earn Pogis. You will not be able to re-activate a Challenge to earn additional Pogis.

Pogo Llama: You mentioned not all Challenges are the same when it comes to rewarding Pogis?

Pogisus: That’s correct. Harder Challenges will generally earn you more Pogis.

Pogo Llama: How will the rewards for completing Constellations work?

Pogisus: They are predetermined, so once you earn the required Pogis and complete a Constellation, you’ll win the Bronze level rewards. You can continue earning more Pogis to reach the Silver and Gold levels and win even more rewards.

Pogo Llama: What will happen to my tokens?

Pogisus: Your final token count will be immortalized and enshrined forever in your profile. And, as a special bonus, we will be awarding players extra bonus Challenges based on their token counts. The more tokens, the more Challenges. These Challenges will offer a high number of Pogis as rewards, letting you light up the Constellations faster. You can even save them for a later Constellation if you want.

Pogo Llama: Can Pogis be saved to earn a higher prize?

Pogisus: Pogis accumulate when there is an active Constellation. You don’t spend them and your count just goes up and up!  You earn rewards as you reach certain Pogi milestones. You can think of the Constellation as a visual map. The more Pogis you earn, the further you travel on the map!

But, as I mentioned before, your Pogi count resets with each new Constellation.

Pogo Llama: Thanks so much for your time! It’s not often I get to interview a flying horse.

Pogisus: There aren’t many of us, so I’m not surprised. But happy to stop by! I can’t wait to see everyone start earning Pogis on March 12. Good luck to all!

We do want to acknowledge the amazingly high token counts many of you achieved. Anyone with an active Club Pogo account on March 9 will be eligible for the free Booster Challenges, which will be given out starting March 12. The number of Challenges awarded will be based on token counts.

As mentioned by our flying friend, these special Challenges will be packed with plenty of Pogi points to help you light the skies faster. Use them whenever you want. As new Constellations will arrive every couple months, you can even save them for later.

  • Hi EA
Since you took over the games been nothing but Bull. All the games that give tokens are being Eliminated. Cause your idea of Challenge is to buy Gems only to make money. You dont have to get rid of the games to make challenges to for your gems. Like soliture gardens for one. Dont like the new Gin dont like knocking. The games you are dumping for gems just leave them and make good challenges with the tokens. Thats why we play for tokens. Whats the scents in playing for score and you dont get nothing for it. Just a waste of time. I hope your not afraid to post this cause alot of people are going to quit. Me too.
    Thank you for your time

    • Hello Sawman0430,
Thank you for leaving your comment.

      Hello,
You may see this is a copy/paste message and that is because I wanted to be sure to get back to as many of you as possible with the information provided. Thank you for commenting on the blog. I appreciate your passion for Pogo.
It is my hope that you do not cancel your Pogo membership. You’re an appreciated part of the Pogo Community and it would be a heartfelt loss to us. However, if you do choose to cancel, I suggest that you come back from time to time and check out all the new things we have on the way. As a registered user, you can enjoy some games and be up to date.
The Pogo team and I understand you are upset due to some of your favorite Flash games retiring. This decision was made as Java and Flash are being phased out across the Internet. While the retirement date of Flash is stated as end of 2020, please understand that the makers of Flash, Adobe, are retiring features within Flash prior to that. These features may be needed to play Pogo games. The Pogo team is working overtime to transfer over player-favorite Flash and Java games before this happens. This also means they need resources to do so and supporting Java and Flash games are not conducive to that.
The even better news is your favorite Java or Flash games may not be gone forever. The team and I are here listening and reading your game requests for potential future HD transfer. Games like the player favorite, Jungle Gin, which was released last week. We also have a number of new and transferred games in the works including Canasta, Spades, and Dice City Roller. I will always keep you posted on the Pogo Insider with all game developments.
Thanks again for reaching out to me about your feelings on the Flash game retirements. I am here and listening to you all.
PS – Please read here on the future of Pogo. You’ll be happy to read about some of the features you enjoy!

  • Will current player tokens be converted to Pogis?

  • I still do not like early access. I like to be able to adjust my game size to my eyes, not one size fits all. Pogo has no room left for chat. Pogo was a place to make new friends.I will be canceling my membership as most of my friends already have. The changes that Pogo has made it no better than any other game site. I am so sad.

    • Hello zestysharon444,
It is my hope that you do not cancel your Pogo membership. You’re an appreciated part of the Pogo Community and it would be a heartfelt loss to us.
I appreciate your feedback on the game size is not working well for your gaming experience. I have let the team know of this request and they are aware of it. Thanks again for reaching out. I am here for you!

  • RE: ” Pogo Llama: Can Pogis be saved to earn a higher prize?

Pogisus: Pogis accumulate when there is an active Constellation. You don’t spend them and your count just goes up and up! You earn rewards as you reach certain Pogi milestones. You can think of the Constellation as a visual map. The more Pogis you earn, the further you travel on the map!

But, as I mentioned before, your Pogi count resets with each new Constellation. ”

Could you please help explain something I didn’t quite understand? It states above that we don’t spend them and our count goes up and up – but, the last statement there says they reset with each new Constellation.

Does that mean they only ‘go up and up’ during a constellation and then reset to… what? zero? Or do they continue to accumulate and the total we earn aggregates, like tokens did, and the amount needed for the constellation resets?? oy. I’m a little confused on that one.

Also, a comment. This new system is based on what games POGO decides we play to accumulate rewards and status, and in what time frame we play. The previous tokens allowed us to play games we chose to play, and relatively, in the time we chose to play them. POGO is controlling our game play a bit too much, I think. Giving players some choice of games in challenges (without having to pay for them) would be a welcomed change.

    Please, POGO. Rethink.

    • Hi memememe1110,

After each new Constellation, Pogis will be reset back to zero. Then a new Constellation will begin. This means that Pogis go up and up during the current Constellation.

Thank you for your feedback on the new system.

  • A LOT TO DIGEST.

  • Could i please ask why all the changes going on? It makes playing some of the games you can only play 1 episode unless you buy gems to unlock new ones. I’m sure i’m not the only 1 who is on a low income & cannot buy the gems. I really don’t know how most people do it. I loved it when you could play the old way on ANY game & wasn’t locked out. Guess i’m old school & not lucky with funds. Sorry if i have ruffled any feathers but just expressing what i have felt since coming back. I couldn’t even get back on my original name (amidsangel) where i have tons of tokens & costumes, etc. I felt HORRIBLE losing everything i had worked so hard for. Oh, well. Life isn’t always great to us but i’m dealing with it. Thank you for the great ride on old Club Pogo. I only hope the new one will be great too. We all shall see. Sincerely, AmongAngels54/ amidsangel

    • Hi AmongAngels54,

Thank you for your question and for being a part of Pogo.

The changes taking place within Pogo are due to Java and Flash being phased out across the Internet. However, the team is working hard on new features and games.
Regarding the use of Gems and Power Ups within games, I do understand that not all are able to purchase them. The Power Ups are available to those players who choose to use them but are not necessary to win any game on Pogo. I realize it does make things faster and easier, but they are not essential to win here on Pogo.

Regarding your original account, please reach out to EA Help and they will be able to assist you. Thank you!

  • It will never take the place of MINIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi wonellie1,
      Thank you for your comment.
Minis will be a part of Early Access. Minis are still fully available on the classic site while we work and develop new features on the Early Access site.
Additionally, Pogis are not intended to replace Minis as they are a new rewarding system. :)

  • This sounds very confusing – tokens were (and still are) much better.

  • It would be great if Pogis could be used to add gems. Please?

  • Solitaire Blitz has not opened all month.
Is there something I can do to solve this problem?

    • Hello CATLVR099,
I am sorry to hear Solitaire Blitz is not opening for you. Unfortunately I’m unable to troubleshoot here on the blog. Please reach out to EA Help and they will be able to assist you. Thank you!

  • I DONT THINK ITS FARE FOR POGO TO END SOME OF THE GAMES ALLOT OF US ARE VERY UPSET SOME OF US MADE FRIENDS THROUGH POGO LIKE IN BINGO AND OTHER GAMES WE WERE ABLE TO CHAT WHILE WE PLAYED SO NOW WE ARE LOSING THE FRIENDSHIPS WE MADE OVER THE YEARS ON POGO ITS JUST NOT FARE
ALLOT OF US ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THIS EARELY ACCESS PROGARM AND SOME OF US ARE LEAVING POGO THEY FEEL YOU ARE CHANGING THE PROGRAMS FOR THE YOUNGER SET AND FORGETTING US OLDER ONES WHO HAD BEEN WITH POGO FOR ALLOT YEARS
    ITS JUST NOT FARE

  • why don’t you ask the pogo players if they like all this change. most I have talked to don’t.

  • DO NOT LIKE THE WAY POGO GAMES ARE NOW YOU ARE DOING AWAY ALL THE GAMES I LIKE DO NOT KNOW IT I WILL RENEW THIS NEW WAY SUCKS

  • Will the token count transferred by current total or lifetime total for those of us who have spent many, many tokens?

  • I’m in a state of confusion, but I guess that will clear with time. lol. Can’t wait to get started on this new program!!

  • Will you be using our Lifetime Token counts (which we see on our Stats tab in Flash games) to determine the number of Booster Challenges, or just the token amount we have showing on at the top of our homepage?

  • This is too silly 4 words..Surreal!! POGO IS GONE 4EVER..2 sad!! :(

  • Now we have an incentive to do daily challenges. Tokens were always worthless. Pogis might be worth something.

  • will Keno be coming back i love it and i really miss playing keno? thank you i would appreciate a reply

    • Hello rainm457,
Thank you for your game request! I will relay it to our team. I appreciate your passion and support of Pogo!

  • you are taking a lot away from us and nothing in return

    • Hi Enb522,
Please stay tuned to the Pogo Insider and blog page for all information on upcoming features!

  • Personally I would rather that we could trade tokens for gems. Most of the games now almost always make you purchase something to be able to complete a game or get further on a quest. As a senior on a limited budget, I can’t do that I already pay to play for club pogo and if I have to purchase things in order to play/win a game I may have to rethink this. Not for sure I am going to like the new and “improved : Pogo. I like winning tokens.

  • The Pogis sound like great fun!!! Will we still be able to receive tokens for daily and weekly challenges? Or will our token counts end in March? All the new rewards should add additional fun in playing our games!! Thanks!!

  • ” Pogis accumulate when there is an active Constellation. You don’t spend them and your count just goes up and up! You earn rewards as you reach certain Pogi milestones.

But, as I mentioned before, your Pogi count resets with each new Constellation.”

Soooo, we keep earning/accumulating them or they start over each time??? Maybe I’m missing something but both of those statements can’t be true at the same time.

    • Hello bnljaney,
      Sorry for any confusion!
I’ll work to get clarification on your question.
      Thank you!

  • Here are my top 5 questions…

    1) Will we be able to choose our rewards? It says rewards are predetermined, but is that based on what we want, or what Pogo wants to give us? I could care less about most power ups, and have no interest whatsoever in the avatars. Badges are the only thing on the reward list that I’m interested in.

    2) I understand that we will probably get more Pogis for a weekly challenge than a daily challenge. But will all daily challenges earn the same amount of Pogis? I’d also ask the same question concerning weekly and M&M badges. Pogo has no clue as to what is a harder challenge. I see it when there is a daily challenge that is more difficult than a prior weekly badge in the same game.

    3) It states that all new challenges will award them, and also some older ones. What is considered an old challenge that qualifies for Pogis?

    4) Why are some Constellations going to require more Pogis than others? This is going to confuse a lot of members. It would have been much clearer if there were set amounts for the 3 different levels and for the 15 tiers of rewards…no matter what Constellation it is.

    5) Now we get to the bonus challenges based on our token count. Is there a maximum amount of bonus challenges that one can earn? And I’d like to know what each person can expect to get at different levels…25 million, 50 million, or whatever amount Pogo is going to use for the levels.

    Thanks!

    Suz

    • Hello MomsBassetHound!
Thank you for your questions! I will look into these and get back to you!

    • Hi MomsBassetHound,

I am back with answers to your questions:

      1. The rewards you’ll earn as you complete tiers of your Constellation will be the same for any player reaching that tier, but we’ll be providing a variety of different rewards including Badges. Knowing the kind of rewards players like best is important, so hearing your feedback will be valuable so that we can make sure that the rewards we provide to players make collecting Pogis even more enjoyable.

      2. We do want to keep Daily Challenges at the same level of Pogis, and Weekly Challenges will be similar. We know that some Daily or Weekly Challenges might provide some variables in terms of length to complete (based upon a few factors), but when we set up Challenges we work hard to give a general window of time needed to complete a Challenge to help establish its difficulty. It’s important to hear from players about Challenges, however, so please feel free to check in on the Forums to give your thoughts about Challenges and difficulty – your opinion matters!

      3. Still working on answer

      4. Our goal with Pogis is to make sure that this is an experience that adds to the Challenges you’re completing, so we do want to keep things straightforward as much as we can. The Pogi Constellation page will help make it clear what you’re working towards on each tier and when, but to answer your question a bit further: the reason we want to have different Constellation Pogi amounts is to make sure that we’re providing variety to players. We’re working to make sure that Pogi Constellations fold in with everything else we’re offering, from Badge Collections to Events and beyond. This way, we can help make sure each Constellation is balanced for players.

      5. You will get one, two, three, or four different challenges based on the amount of tokens you have earned when we grab all of the Club Pogo members’ token counts on March 9. We will begin sending out the challenges when the first constellation begins but it may take a little time for all of the club members to receive their challenges. Each challenge will be worth 1,200 Pogis which will give you a good boost into the first constellation and the rewards!

      Thanks again for your questions!

  • This sounds like fun, but I am a little confused about being able to save them, and them resetting when a new Constellation starts.

  • So no real prizes anymore? ie cash draws?

  • Sounds like Pogo has put quite a bit of thought into Pogis. Looking forward to them.

    • Thank you for your comment, Mittuck! I can definitely vouch that the Pogis team has put in some extra special effort and time. :)

  • Hopefully it will be easier to find than trying to find games on the home page in the new pogoor anything else.

  • I am looking forward to meeting Pogisus, exploring all the new Constellations and earning Pogis Rewards! Are the Reward Badges actual Game Badges that we are able to activate and earn?♥

    • Hi phillyangel23!
      I’m excited you’re excited, too!

Regarding your question for Reward Badges, using those, you will not be able to make further progress in a Constellation. I hope this helps to clarify.

      Thank you!

  • Humbug!

  • This is just plain stupid

  • Very Nice to meet you Pogisus. WE THE POGO FAMILY (Community) WELCOME YOU INTO OUR HOME!!!! 1) Pogo Llama Thank You for the Informative Interview. Pogisus and you answered so many of my Questions running in my head. As I continued to read the interview each was answered for me. 2) As we move through the Constellations and complete them a) Do we keep a Journal &/or Map that we can go back and look at? To smile at in Rememberance sake? b)Or, Do they disappear with each Constellation? That was they only question a little unclear. I know each constellation will come and go. So that’s easy. Thank you again for the interview with Pogisus.

    • Thank you for your questions and interest in Pogis, llowe47! (Pogisus feels very welcomed here!)
I will ask and get back to you!

  • I still want to have chat. That is the fun of it. Will I ever have chat?

  • Sounds like fun!

  • Sounds a little confusing but I’m sure once it’s rolled out it will make sense.

Does this also mean we will no longer have our Minis? To be honest that would be a huge mistake getting rid of them, especially since we worked hard to accumulate tokens and, sometimes, purchasing gems to buy things from the Mini Mall. As I’m sure you know, our Minis are an extension of ourselves and were fun to dress and decorate, especially during holidays. Echoing my fellow Pogo members, the avatars are severely lacking.

I know you and the rest of the Pogo staff are working hard to make the long and arduous transition to the new site all the while trying to appease the members. It is, indeed, a truly daunting task!

Thank you for everything you do and keeping members up to date with the changes!
(keeping fingers crossed for the future of our Minis) ; )

    • Hello txamstudent!

Minis will be a part of Early Access. Minis are still fully available on the classic site while we work and develop new features on the Early Access site. Please stay tuned to the Pogo insider for all updates! Thank you.

  • This sounds like fun! It is something different. I am enjoying the new Pogo a lot. Thank you for bringing back some of my favorite older games. Will you be bringing back dominoes? That is one I really like.

    • Thank you so much, RBaker1049! We like having you as a part of Pogo, too!
Thanks for the Dominoes game request! I’ll let the team know. :)

  • I personally do “NOT” like the NEW pogo.I am 82 and it isn’t easy to be able to figure out all the new rules etc.I know you can call but sometimes it still is harder to understand.I feel I have been let down by this new way.

    • Hi joanmarie777,
I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Have you been able to find any help by take a tour with Joyce the tour guide? Or perhaps asking questions on the Pogo Early Access forum thread? We are here to help you!

  • Question – Which token count will you be using – the lifetime amount (which includes amounts that were spent over the years in the mall and prize drawings, etc.) or the amount that shows in the site header on the home page?

  • Very unhappy with this news. everything looks sooo juvenile and seems like something a kid would like not an adult. I’m soooo disappointed in Pogo/Ea whatever you call it. I’m not the olny one as I see your members numbers dwindle.

This is not progress. This is one-sided change. We were never asked what we liked and wanted to keep. No reason for you to do away with tokens. None whatsoever.

    Unhappy Member

    • Hello Bronzbodi55,
I am so sorry to hear your feelings on Pogis.
We’re here listening to your feedback. Please make sure to take the Early Access survey if you have not already. Thank you!

  • don’t like it sounds bad and complicated need easy games not compitition

  • You have ruined pogo big time, I have been a member since 2001, but I will not be re-newing my subscription, you have ruined friendships that have been since day 1.

    • Hi Donny,

It is my hope that you do not cancel your Pogo membership. You’re an appreciated part of the Pogo Community and it would be a heartfelt loss to us.
I appreciate your feedback on Early Access.

    thank you

    • Hi kittyzwei,

Thanks again for reaching out to me about your feelings on the Flash game retirements. I am here and listening to you all.

  • SOUNDS DIFFERENT AND INTERESTING … GUESS WE’LL FIND OUT SOON !!
OH !!! WHAT WILL THE AVATARS LOOK LIKE ??

  • I am not a dinosaur and will evolve & adapt to the new Pogo format. However, you are taking away all of my favorite games & replacing them with child’s play games. Been on Pogo 14 yrs, so I’m not a rookie at this. I just wish there was a happy medium we could all live with. SS for Pogo’s loss when no one renews when the time comes.

    • Hello FDwiggins,
Thank you for your feedback. Which games are your current Pogo favorites?

  • i dont see anything concerning chat in any of the games
so many memebers look forward to that part of pogo also many are not returning to play due to nothing being said about all the chat options we enjoyed

  • will we have any games we can play with our friends and talk to them after 20 yrs on pogo that’s my happy time

  • sound great

  • Hope we can figure out which games to play on Bonus Days ?????????
