Club Pogo Member Memories: Meet Baronvonboss!

Blow up the balloons, then pop them in the Pop-Fu fashion, because we have more celebrating to do! As we continue our Club Pogo 10 Year Anniversary celebration by highlighting some of our long time Club Pogo players, we turn our focus on Cheryl, from Arizona!

First name: Cheryl

Screen name: Baronvonboss

Tell us a little bit about yourself:  I am retired after working over 20 years as an administrative assistant and 10 years in retail. I am very outgoing and a positive thinker.  I am a ’people’ person who loves to smile and make people happy.

I am also a metaphysical minister. I counsel those who seek my help, but I do not believe in telling others what to do. I prefer to guide them in making their own decisions. I have many hobbies such as crocheting, reading and writing. I have co-authored a book and am in the process of getting it published. I was in a movie filmed in Prescott, AZ in 2000. It was filmed by a Hollywood company.

Pogo has been my steady companion and my main stress reliever. I have met many great people playing games. One of the things I love about Pogo is meeting people from all around the US, Canada and GB.

  • What a beautiful person you are…on the inside and out. I really enjoyed reading your profile. I’m so sorry to hear that your password was stolen. That must has been devastating! I hope you continue to enjoy your retirement and the beautiful life you have.

    • Thank you for your comment, Susie. I appreciate it very much. Losing my password was quite disappointing, but I was happy that I was able to keep it for so many years. Good luck to you in all you do and be happy.

  • Hello Ms. Cheryl. Thank you so much for your “Guiding Thoughts”. Your story is such a blessing. I really appreciate and admire that you find your happiness in bringing smiles to someone else. It really does make life so much brighter, doesn’t it?
May I ask the title of the book you co-authored and the name of the movie you were in (or are you permitted to say)?
Thank you again for sharing such a heart-warming bit about yourself. This was actually a very touching read!!

    • Thank you for your comments, cajuncort. I am glad that you found them heart-warming. It seems natural to me to smile at people and see that it brightens their day. The title of book that I co-authored is “Left to Right”. and the movie I was in is “The Cactus Kid”. It did not make it on the big screen, however, it was sold as a dvd. Love and Light, Cheryl

  • This is the third profile I have read that talks about the Quackadoodle badge….What wa so hard about it….I did it and it was not hard……..

    • The original Quackadoodle badge requirements was to get 100 jackpot spins in Quick Quack. You only get a guaranteed jackpot spin if you earned over x amount of tickets. I don’t remember the exact amount. If you earned between a certain amount of tickets you had a 1 in 3 chance of getting a jackpot spin. And if you earned under a certain amount, you didn’t get a jackpot spin at all.

So, you could end up playing a great many games before you actually earned the badge.

Because many members had trouble earning jackpot spins in the time allotted, the challenge was extended for a second week. Once the challenge was over, Pogo decreased the requirements to 10 jackpot spins.

For the record, I earned the challenge the week it was first offered. To this day, I hate that game.

      • Like SusyQ I completed the badge in the time allowed…..it was gruesome!!! Then Pogo lowered the requirements and extended the time for another week. I still think Pogo should have had a special badge for the people who completed the challenge as it was originally presented…..it just didn’t seem fair to those of us who did it and then they changed the rules? I will not play that game again unless I absolutely have to.

        • I also completed it during the original time period. For the longest time, I kept that badge as my icon because I knew how hard I’d worked on it!

          • I agree it was a tough badge and I did complete it within the week. Pogo should not have simplified it to satisfy the whiners!!

          • I too completed it on two different accounts in the allotted time. I very rarely play it now…lol.

        • I agree, it was a challenge alright, the same with Risk a few years ago, I also did it with wonderful twin sisters. Remember also the Vault of Atlantis with the Sharks, I did it also within the allotted time. But reading Miss Nettie, I found out that a bunch of people just asked for the badge. I love pogo and the friends I have made and some I’ve met in person. It’s absolutely wonderful.
All the best also to Cheryl. Cheryl you are a light in other people’s life.
