Club Pogo Member Memories: Meet RuthCroda!

Oh what fun we’re having! To celebrate 10 years of Club Pogo in a single month is an unusual treat, but before we wrap up, let’s  focus our attentions on Ruthann, who is not only a long time Club Pogo member, but also a prize winner!

First name:
Ruthann

Screen name: RuthCroda

Tell us a little bit about yourself: I am retired and have enjoyed playing on the Pogo games for 10 years. I usually check first thing in the morning and then again in the afternoon to make sure I did not miss anything.

I am a retired nurse and my husband and I took care of 75 foster children. We still see a few of them even though they are grown-up. They are scattered all over the US.  We just recently sold our home and down-sized so I have a lot more time to play. I also did some wild-life rehabilitation and enjoyed that, too.

State, Province or Country? Indiana, USA

Astrological sign? Aquarius

How long have you been playing on Club Pogo? 10 years

What was your first impression of Club Pogo?   Thought it was great and very smart. Wish I had thought of something so genius!

What is your favorite Club Pogo game? Love Dominoes and card games and word games. Also, Jungle Gin and Tri-Peaks Solitaire.

What’s your favorite looking Club Pogo Badge? I love my badge that I won when I won a JACKPOT one time!

Club Pogo has lots of features – Challenges, messaging, exclusive games, ad-free gaming… which is your favorite? I love all the challenges and, of course, ad free is great!

What goes on in your mind when you’re deciding how to dress your Mini?  I dress my mini for the season and holidays… I also like to see how others are dressing theirs.

Do you have a favorite Club Pogo memory? If so, describe it… YES, when I won over $1300.00 and a badge!!! I was so excited… I called my husband at work to tell him… and I really got the money!

Have you made any long-term friends on Club Pogo? Yes, a couple.

Have you ever forgotten to do something important because you lost track of time on Club Pogo?    Well, of course…   Just another minute… I’ll be right there!

What makes you a unique Club Pogo fan?   I am so unique anyway… but, the fact that I can play for hours on end and not worry that my housework/laundry is not getting done… well, that is priceless.

Do you ever eat while you play? If so, what’s a favorite “Club Pogo” food? I am always munching on something… chips or crackers and cheese, mostly.

Do you read the Pogo News? If so, what do you like most about it? Yes, I read the news and the etiquette column, as well.

Popping balloons, swapping candy, or playing cards? Love all of these.

Challenge Wednesday or Mini Thursday? Always look on Wednesday to see the weekly challenges.

  • You are a very caring person to take in 75 foster children. It takes alot of patients.Congrats on playing pogo for 10 years.

  • I was a fostor child for 8 years. I cannot express my gratitude that complete strangers would open their home, heart, health, love, kindness and generosity. We only hear of the bad fostors out there. But there are WAAAAAY WAAAAAY MANY EXCELLENT fostors out there. Thank you for fostoring. Now that I am fully financially set, I would love to buy you a year sub. to pogo if I could. And a WTG on winning a JP spin!! Talk about someone who deserves such riches.

    • Your comment made me cry…as a former foster child who made it. You’re absolutely right. You only hear about the bad foster parents. For you to offer this amazing woman a membership…that’s what made me cry. I always attempt to “Pay It Forward.” That is truly a wonderful gesture. You too have earned your Angel Wings. xoxo

    • I was a foster child, too, and I think it’s wonderful that you would want to “reward” Ruthann for her amazing, sacrificial gift to so many fortunate children. God is true to His word, “When my father and my mother abandon me, then the LORD shall pick me up.” Psalm 27:10 Unfortunately, it was only into adulthood that I truly grew to appreciate that God gave my life “beauty for ashes” in no small part through foster parents.

    • I to grew up in foster care system I had a awful time but when I turned 15 I went to a family that truly loved me and took care of me people like RuthAnn do exist from one foster to another

  • The world needs more people like you and your husband. God bless you both. Enjoy your retirement…it is well deserved.

  • My goodness! You have a lifelong history of love…75 foster children!!! God Bless You and your hubby! Keep on winning Pogo games…continue the fun!

  • What a wonderful story and blessed life you have! Seventy-five foster children! You are an amazing woman. Thank you for sharing your story and may your life continue to be as richly blessed as you have blessed so many others. You’ve already earned your Angel Wings. May God continue to bless you and yours as you enjoy living the retired life…and of course…have fun on Pogo!

  • You truly are a remarkable person and I wish you continued happiness in life and even more luck on Pogo. The world really does need more people like you.

  • WOW what a special person. Thank you for sharing.

  • I Truly Believe You and Your hubby are Amazing God Gifted Individuals, whom could have such a Big Heart to have Fostered so many of the Children that others reject or put in harms way. I Know that You and Your hubby will be Greatly Rewarded one day. May God Bless You and Your Richly. You are what I would call a Great Inspiritation. Thanks for all You Do…
