Club Pogo Member Memories: Meet azkitkataz!

Well, it’s now been officially ten years and ONE day since we launched Club Pogo! And we’re still celebrating by featuring some of our long-term and loyal Club Pogo players! Today we have the pleasure of meeting Kitty, who has missed dental cleaning appointments to finish Challenges!

First name:
 Kitty

Screen name: azkitkataz

Tell us a little bit about yourself:  Originally from Illinois, I relocated to Arizona in 2000, for two reasons.  One, I never wanted to see snow or feel cold again!  Two, in such great weather I could live my dream of becoming a Realtor which I did.

I have three grown daughters, two of which have relocated to my area also.  I have six wonderful grandchildren and they are my treasures!  When my oldest daughter moved to AZ 7 years ago, she followed my footsteps to live her dream.  She opened a dance studio and having over 400 students she is thriving!  Sometimes, at any age, you just have to reach out and grab what you want.  Hard work is always necessary but the rewards are immense.

State, Province or Country? Arizona

Astrological sign? Being a Taurus, I am truly an earth sign!  Not stubborn as one may think.  But grounded, determined, loving and honest.

How long have you been playing on Club Pogo? I joined when it became Club Pogo in 2003 but I was playing for several years prior.  It gave (gives) my mind somewhere else to go away from day to day stress.

What was your first impression of Club Pogo? That it was colorful & fun!  It provided me games that I could challenge myself, always available, at a reasonable price.  I love to ‘build’ my tokens.

What was the first Club Pogo Badge you earned?  Pop Fu Zen Badge,  July 23, 2003

What is your favorite Club Pogo game?  Lottso!!!  Teams for sure… love the speed.

What’s your favorite looking Club Pogo Badge?  The Arizona Badge in Word Search Daily

Club Pogo has lots of features – Challenges, messaging, exclusive games, ad-free gaming… which is your favorite?  I really like that Pogo is ad free!  But I like having the daily challenges to look forward to and of course the Weeklies on Wednesdays.

Do you have a favorite room? If so, which is it and in what game?  I really don’t have a favorite room.  I choose rooms that have lots of people so that the chat will be entertaining and maybe even ‘pull’ me in.  I have met wonderful, warm, helpful people on Pogo!

Who’s your favorite Pogo character?  Spike, of course!

What goes on in your mind when you’re deciding how to dress your Mini?  My mood plays a part and the time of the year or approaching holiday.  I make myself look young and beautiful!  LOL  It uplifts my spirit.

Do you have a favorite Club Pogo memory? If so, describe it… Yes!  I loved playing Boardwalk Sea Ball…every part except the second part, the Ducks.  Oh, I was so frustrated and just couldn’t figure out how to master it.  Well, sclady22 (Jane) who I had chats with jumped in and guided me on the proper steps to take.  Her enthusiasm to help a total stranger was highly appreciated! We remain Pogo friends to this day.

Have you made any long-term friends on Club Pogo?  There are a bunch of people that have remained friends but most importantly, my sister, plyrkrnl (Mary Jane) who lives in Illinois.  Pogo keeps us close with no distance between us.  We keep each other up to date, try to out-win each other and laugh a lot.

Have you ever forgotten to do something important because you lost track of time on Club Pogo?  Oh my goodness, yes!  I am compelled to finish a challenge…it has a hold on me…and I have missed dental cleaning appointments.

What makes you a unique Club Pogo fan?  I don’t think I am very unique as a Club Pogo fan.  I believe I am similar to the many wonderful people who play and enjoy on a regular basis.

Do you ever eat while you play? If so, what’s a favorite “Club Pogo” food?  Of course, I nibble as I play!  Twizzlers are my first choice and often my meals are right there with me. It’s so much more fun to play during meal time.

Do you read the Pogo News? If so, what do you like most about it?  I check into the News area about once a week.  I like to see what the new promotions are; I look through the spotlighted people for anyone I may know; and sometimes I take a look at the winning tips for certain games.

Popping balloons, swapping candy, or playing cards?  All!  Swapping candy first, playing cards, next and lastly, popping balloons.

Challenge Wednesday or Mini Thursday?  Tuesdays can’t pass by fast enough!  I always look forward to the Wednesday challenges.  Wednesdays are the beginning of my Pogo week.

Puzzle Games, Board Games, Word Games, Card Games or Solitaire?  Word games and card/solitaire games are my favorites.  I play all the others but I don’t search them out as often.  I like to achieve all the ranks so sometimes I play nonstop in a game that I enjoy until I reach the top rank.  It’s how I challenge myself.

    • Hello wonderlesswoman! Thanks for your note. I grew up in Chicago itself NW side and then raised my family in the suburbs, Schaumburg area. I now live on the West side of Phoenix in a wonderful city called Surprise. Anyway, I have to pinch myself everyday! It is paradise! Come on out when you’re ready…I’ll be happy to guide you to the perfect home. Much more affordable than IL. Take care,

    • Thanks for taking thetime to read my profile! How very sweet of you and everyone! Hopefully we all have many years of Pogo playing in our future! Thanks, again!

  • Dear Kitty

No, you are not stubborn. If you were stubborn, you wouldn’t of made it as far as you have today. Stubborn people usually don’t accomplish very much in life or get very far. And it’s wonderful that your daughter kind of joined you on the adventure. NEVER STOP DREAMING! AND NEVER STOP FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS! I am very proud of both of you.

I am a little envious because Arizona has the most spectacular lightning displays in the sky. Better than any state in the US. I have done ALOT of traveling and i have been to Arizona. I would love to see the lightning out there again.

I love your name. I have 2 names. One is my given name (that is on all my ID and paperwork), and the other is my tribal name. And the tribal name is just as legal as the other. I can’t complain, i like both of them.

I am a divorced, straight female, and i live with my cat.

    • Hello cimbakahn! Your words were so very touching! Thank you for your kindness. Sounds like we are similar…LOL…for everything except the cat. My name may be Kitty but I am allergic to cats and most breeds of dogs too. AZ is a wonderful place and the skies, whether it is with lightening or sunsets, are extraordinary. I am thankful to be living out my dream. But I do work hard and struggle daily…nothing in life comes easy, that’s for sure! Enjoy a fabulous day! It’s a pleasure to meet you!!!

  • Awe Great Pick Pogo on Kitty…
You are such a beautiful young lady… so funny an loving… you seem so down to earth as many others of us here in pogo land.. very nice profile..
    GOD BLESS you doll
    Sandi N Jazzi Bear

    • Oh Sandi N Jazzi Bear! How nice of you to compare me to the many fun, wonderful people we get to see every day in Pogoland! Some days I don’t feel too ‘young’ but it’s all in the attitude. I know that many other people struggle every day so I try not to let my stresses bring me down too often. I am thankful for the little things. I am thankful for YOU! Have a very blessed day!

  • Kitty, I too live in AZ and have for quite some time. I too am a Taurus, but I am stuborn. I enjoyed reading you bio and have enjoyed being with Pogo since 2001 even though it doesn’t show that in my profile due to not being able to renew memebrship for alittle bit. I love the weather in AZ during the winter months but the summmers are alittle hard due to the heat, but you get used to it. God Bless and good luck in all your endevours.
    Vicki (pogo name: reevesvickil)

    • Hi Vicki! Thanks for your message. I’m in the West Valley; where are you? And yes, we have the most perfect winters but summers can be a little tough. I find that if I spend time in the pool and stay wet all day the summer doesn’t bother me much at all. Of course that is not always possible. All I can say is “thank goodness for A/C!!! And hooray for no snow! LOL Have a happy, blessed day! Keep cool!

      • Hi again Kitty, I live in Surprise, which I guess is the west valley too. I am not lucky enough to have a pool so I have to depend on my a/c, which is going all the time. I have added you to my friends list ad you can do so to if you want, hope you don’t mind, it is always nice to find another Arizonian (even one not originally from here, I am not from her either I am originally from San Diego). Anyway God Bless and have a wonderful day.
        Vicki

  • Congratulations Kitty on your 10 years with Pogo, I hope you are here for many more. I have been with Pogo for 12 years myself and have enjoyed ever year I have been with Pogo. I love every game, as well as the people I meet. The badges are fun to earn and there isn’t a day that goes by that I am not plying. So good luck to you and many more years of happiness with Pogo. Sincerly craftty319

    • Oh Maria, thank you very much! Yes, the people in Pogo since the beginning have been sweet and nice for the most part. Rarely have I met any undesirables! LOL We are both long time players so please feel free to join my friend list so maybe we can bump into each other at some point. Play hard, get the badges and enjoy every minute! Thanks again and good luck!

  • We met in a room talking about the Casey Anthony trial and then the Jodie trial,we both had so many opinions about the 2,Kitty working the hours she does, and me in Fl. I kept her up to date on the Zimmerman case that was the beginning and then we started calling each other and have been friends ever since.. Can I have your autograph?? Kitty and I are court room junkies..lol, love ya lady!

    • Yes, Trish, my two addictions….Pogo and court TV! And not enough time for either. LOL Autographs couldn’t be very important…just a Pogo player! But I am very happy to have met so many great players and YOU are one of them! Keep me up to date on everything court related. Thank you again and may God be watching over you everyday!

      • thank you so much and may God watch over you also,I will keep you up to date on the trials, but this time I am calling, too much to type what happens in one day in court!

    • OMG you two sound like me…a court room junkie and I loved and had many opinions on Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias trials too. I followed the Zimmerman trial also as I live in FL like you Trish. Congrats Kitty on the recognition for 10 years on Pogo. I played for several years and finally ended up joining the club and wouldn’t take anything in the world for doing so. Keep up your trial watching and Pogo playing…lol. I guess the next one I will get caught up in is the lady from GA that was having an affair with her boss and her husband was killed in front of her child’s daycare center after he had dropped the child off. Those cases are so addictive and I come from a family with lots of law in our background…so I got it honestly. I can’t wait until the Arias trial starts again…I feel so so sorry for the Alexander family. Take care ladies and maybe we will bump into each other in one of the game rooms.

      • Oh Bev! Another court TV watcher! LOL The trials are all so awesome! I’ve been hooked since the OJ days which is like forever ago! Casey Anthony should have been convicted and Jodi should never get out of jail. I can’t wait for the Andrea Sneiderman trial and of source Jodi once again. Feel free to choose me as one of your friends and maybe we will bump into each other when playing some games. Thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts and good wishes. I never realized just how much Pogo playing means to me until right now! Take care!

        • Good Morning Kitty…oh yes another court tv watcher! LOL I so agree with you on your opinions on those trials. I still don’t understand how Anthony walked free. I currently have wftv.com on my computer and I am watching the Cady Way trial live out of Orlando. I am going back and forth between playing Pogo and watching the trial. 2 teens shot and killed then burned. In case you don’t catch it will let you know the outcome.

          • Oh Bev, I don’t get to see that trial. I only see what is on HLN and the Court channel. It’s funny how I don’t like any of the court tv stories but live court I am riveted! Yes, let me know how it turns out. Add me to your friends list so we can keep in touch. Thanks!

      • Hi Bev, Good there is another court watcher, add peachietrishie to your pogo friends and maybe we can catch up with each other play some pogo and watch court,I am in Port Richey, where are you? See Kitty we have started a court watcher club!!

  • Dear Kitty

    Its me again!

I have thought about moving to Flagstaff or Albuquerque, but i couldn’t handle the heat. I have a big heat problem.

    • Hi You again!

Flagstaff is too cold for me. But Albuquerque, even though it does get cold is very intriguing. Live your dreams…whatever it takes! It can be scary but OH what joy!

  • I am also a 10 year veteran of Pogo I love playing poppit as a stress reliever i am always amazed when I pop all of the balloons in a game and still have no idea how I do it. Takes a while, but it does help alot… also on those sleepless nights the concentration to get all the balloons makes one sleepy… GB u and many more happy yrs with pogo!!!

    • Hi there, Lookycherms! Apparently there are many of us long time Pogo players! It’s a good thing for sure! I am the same way with the balloon games! Lucky if I win and I have no clue how I made it happen. LOL But it is all fun. Wishing you many happy years on Pogo too! God luck and pray for winning gems! Thank you very much!

  • Hi sis! Well I am very impressed! I too love Pogo, when my computer works properly! Its been a great ‘common’ denominator! Thanks for introducing me to Pogo. I love you!!! MJ

    • Dear Sister MJ! My best day on Pogo was when you joined! Keep your computer working and good luck in all you do! With Love and some silliness, too!

  • Congratulations, Kitty on being chosen for one of the Tenth Anniversary Spotlights. We have a lot in common with regard to Pogo. I live in Missouri but would give ANYTHING to get out due to the weather! I too met the sister I never had on Pogo and do not know what I would do without her.

You’re an awesome lady that has reached her dreams. It has touched me that you have responded to each and every comment that you received from people you do not know. Pogo is truly family.

May God continue to bless you and all of your friends. Keep on reaching for the stars!

    • Hi Susie! Thank you very much! How nice of you to take the time to read all this and reach out to me! I have friends who live in Missouri and they bought a house here in AZ and spend their winters here. It’s great if you can do it! Maybe it is something you can consider some day. As far as Pogo people go, YES they are like a family to me. We are all connected and it can be such fun! lease feel free to add me to your friend list if you’d like. Maybe then we can chat here and there as we end up in some games together.

Thank you again for all your lovely words and I will always keep reaching for the stars! You do the same…never give up!

      Fondly,

  • Wonderful article on you Kitty,..enjoyed reading it …thanks to sclady who informed me you were picked for your 10 year anniversary..Congratulations!!
