Hello Pogoians!

We’ve made it to the 99th edition of the Pogo Insider! So, yes, we’re going to party like it’s blog number 99! :D

What a week it has been! It has been very rainy and wet here in the Bay Area, making it the perfect time to stay dry while playing my favorite Pogo games (Poppit! Bingo and Crossword Cove). Although I may have a new favorite game now that Sweet Tooth Town will be available shortly!

As many of you are aware, the HTML 5 update to Trizzle is on the way here to Pogo and will arrive on Thursday, February 28. Have you seen the sneak peek photos of the new Trizzle? If not, click here to check it out in all its new glory!

And there’s more! Would you like to see a few photos from the upcoming Pogo Daily Sudoku? Of course you do so please click here!

Welcome to the Construction Zone! Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

Here’s some information about upcoming updates and changes from recent blog articles:

Tokens – As many of you are aware, the current token system will be replaced with a new awards system. As stated in a May 2018 blog, I, and the rest of the Pogo team, know this is a point of contention for some of you. For those of you for whom tokens provide a way to project status and achievement over time, we hear you and we understand your aversion to losing this status. Tokens in the current Flash and Java games will remain and will not be removed. We thank you for your understanding. Stay tuned for more information about the upcoming system.

Pogo recommendations and specifications for your computer have been updated as of August 14, 2018.  These are the recommended specifications for playing Pogo games smoothly on your computer. If you are experiencing loading issues, I strongly encourage you to check out the computer specifications listed. Having a compatible computer helps ensure the best possible Pogo experience!

Chat – We know a lot of you guys love chat and consider it a critical feature. We’re aware of the many requests for chat to be updated and to be returned to the side of the game screen. The team here is looking into it. I’ll give you an update as soon as I have one!

HTML 5 update to Trizzle

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. What are the most popular games on Pogo?
A.  Poppit! Bingo, Jet Set Solitaire, Quinn’s Aquarium, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, and Crossword Cove are currently the most popular with players.

Pogoains, I know you’re missing your Trizzle so please know that while the old Flash version has gone down, the new HTML 5 version will be up (in all its glory!) on Thursday, February 28. And then, you can party like it’s Pogo Insider Blog number 99!

Take good care and remember you matter and have what it takes to finish those Challenges!

Cheers,

Pogo Llama

  • Find myself hopping between Poppit Party and Poppit Bingo. Love them both. Thanks for all the great updates. Stay dry, we are trying to stay warm in snowy MI. Looking forward to spring and flowers.

    • Hiya Ma,
So glad you’re enjoying both games so much and thank you for letting me know. I really do like to hear which games Pogoians are enjoying the most. I shall stay dry and you stay warm. Spring really will be on the way, I promise. :)

  • A couple of questions about the June retirements. 4 of those games are my all time favorites that I really haven’t been able to play because they are Java or Flash based. So my question is even though I know Jigsaw Detective and Spooky Slots won’t be coming back unfortunately but are there any plans at this time to bring back DCR (Dice City Roller) or Lottso! (as I’m not a fan of the updated Lottso Express you have now).

Is there plans to bring any of those games leaving in June back as HTML games? And will they be leaving the beginning or end of the month?

    • Hi Dejakitty,
We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • How do I get all three stars on jet set solitare? I have looked everywhere!!! Thank you, I LOVE POGO.COM. !!!! Bearly57

    • Hello there bearly57,
We love having you here on Pogo and are very happy you love us too. :)
Please click here to head over to the Pogo Forums (this link will take you directly to the Jet Set Solitaire section) and create a post on the forum asking for help. Players often go to the forum to answer and ask game strategy questions and this may be helpful for you as you seek to gain those 3 stars.

  • Its been a very long time since we had a new “Clue” game. I miss them as they are my favorites.
Can someone put a bug in someone’s ear and maybe get a few more Clues puzzles going?? Thanks!

  • I’m so disappointed that y’all are getting rid of games like High Stakes Pool and KenoPop. Those should be relatively simple games to redevelop in HD. One of Pogo’s biggest draws for me is to play the games I played with family and friends a decade ago. Please consider reviving more of the classics for folks to enjoy for years to come!

    • Hello WeatherDudeVA,
Thank you for your feedback. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

    • gree with u love hight stakr pool pogo keep it

  • I have played Pogo since around 1998/99 and couldn’t wait til Wed. to have a new challenge and badge. Then we could join Pogo and not have any commercials during the games. YAY!! I have prided myself in getting all the badges available, but that has changed in the last few months. I just read 3 of the 5 most popular games are Poppit Bingo,I’m not fast enough. Jet Set Solitaire, can’t get enough stars, and Quinns Aquarium, the hardest of them all! Games I cannot play, and cannot fill my albums. But they seem to be challenges or in albums everytime. Two other games that are always offered are Mahjong Escape, I cannot win a timed game. and Solitaire Gardens, don’t have luck maxing out the Flower Power Meter. Being 81 years young, I realize I am slower and my eyesight plays tricks on me. But my o my, how I miss not being able to fill my albums. They have always been a personal challenge for myself. Push until I learned to play the game, and always seemed to be able to get them – but no more. Is there anyway to offer maybe some of the older games, or perhaps having a choice of the harder games or older ones. Thanks for getting me through deaths in the family, cancer, radiation, and all life throws at us as we age. I love Pogo, and have made so many friends, and when chat is put back on the side, I hope to make more friends. Pogo is the main reason I have a computer. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the free albums you offer now, even though I can’t fill them all, they give me many hours of pleasure. Just thought I’d give you some of my thoughts on the levels of some of the games I can’t play, and wishing there would be another choice so I can fill up my albums again. Thanks Pogo, hattie831

    • Hello Hattie,
Thank you for being a part of Pogo and I am glad Pogo has been a place of comfort for you when you were going through so much. I am really sorry you have gone through so much, that’s a lot of life lived.
I hear what you’re saying about not being able to complete the challenges within the new games. I will pass this along to the team and I really do appreciate you writing in. Have a really good and fun week here in Pogo.

  • I am sorry to see that you will no longer be adding new items to the Mini Mall. Is this permanent, or will you add more items at a later date?

    • Hello Balmergal1,
There will be new items and that will be permanent. Thank you for asking.

  • Dear Llama,

I totally love having the challenges to work on and it has been wonderful for me, however, we just finished an album for Solitaire Gardens..is it possible to spread out these type of challenges so that we don’t get burned out on any one game? I believe last month it was Quinn’s Aquarium that had back to back challenges. Or instead of being all one game, make an album with several different challenges so that by we finish the album we aren’t ready to throw the computer across the room…lol.

Thanks Pogo for all the different type of challenges and the GREAT work!

    • Thank you for your feedback and your very kind way of wording your feedback. I will relay your message to the rest of the team here at Pogo. Thank you for being a part of Pogo and for participating in these challenges. :)

  • I have noticed that the previous badges were more brighter and clearer well truthfully pretty. the new ones when look good as small become dull. Like the one of the English umbrella badge I own when small looks like stipes of colors.

  • How do you determine what Java games you will convert to HTML? It seems all my favorite games are getting the boot.

    • Hello ljsbus2,
Thanks for your question. I believe this question was best answered back in an October edition of the Pogo Insider.
      Here is the answer:

There are some games that have already been decided upon and then there are games that have not so the answer is it is an ongoing process, and one that takes a great deal of thought and strategy. The process of selecting converted games includes a mix of things such as historical data, gaming trends, and player popularity. The team must also be sure the game can technical convert over. For example, some players have been wondering if we’ll be converting table games such as Canasta and Bridge to HD. The answer to this is: The reason games with lobbies are not currently converted is due to needing the technology to make it so. These are known as multiplayer games and we’re working on the technology for that. Once this work is complete, we can start on converting those games over. Thank you for your question and I hope this has provided some insight into our process of game selection.

  • Hi Pogo_Llama, hope you’re well. Please ask the team if they can add a way to get to earlier levels in Quinn’s Aquarium. I finished all challenges/games for this marathon in the first few days, but cannot get through Quinn’s Aquarium (which means, of course, can’t get the badge)! I’ve spent all my remaining gems (had over 100) purchasing holds, hints, etc. to get through this game, playing it over and over and over, and only finished 2 levels! Ridiculous! If Quinn’s Aquarium is going to be part of marathons, there must be an easier way to get through the levels (especially 18!). Thanks, Susie

    • Hello Susie,
Thanks so much for your question to pass along to the developer’s of Quinn’s Aquairum, which is called CoolGames. Thank you for playing and have a fun rest of the weekend.

  • ya’ll are always looking for new games. how about a game from Texas. It was started by two boys from Garner Texas. Their parents were strict Southern Baptist. they were forbidden to play cards. So invented a dominoe game and called it 42. It is played like spades. It is easy to learn. learning to bid takes a few minutes. There are a number of games played all the time on the computer. Just pull up 42 games. Please give it a try.

    thank you
    a42player

  • I really like the new Sweet Tooth Town game. I’m still learning the ropes of the game, but I’m having fun playing it. It seems to be a cross between Jewel Academy (which I love) and Sweet Tooth II (which I don’t like :)). I’m looking forward to all the new releases!!!!!

    • Awww thanks so much for sharing this with me, Ca8081. I’m so happy you’re enjoying the new games. Have a great rest of your weekend.

  • I am happy to see Word Search is returning. Due to my Java I am unable to get to play it. I prided myself on getting most of the badges. I believe I need 11 to complete my badges. I hope I can finish this.

    • You can do it, I believe you will achieve your goal of completing the 11 remaining badges.

  • Hi Liama…

I am always pro pogo but I have to mention my disappointment with a few of the games leaving pogo.
I understand that pogo can not update all the games but some I really love and mentioned everytime Pogo asked us what to update.
Pogo addiction solitaire,Thousand Island Solitaire,Casino Island blackjack,Squelchies and Spooky slots.
    So sad.
    Thanks for listening, rckgirl1

    • Hi rckgirl1,
I’m always here to list. Always.
All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • Love Poppit Bingo !! Are you going to add any new levels soon ?? Also who do we contact to have the font size on the tickets made smaller so we can read them. Have a GREAT DAY !! And THANKS for all that you do for us !!

    • Hi Boogie,
I must know, have you completed all levels on Poppit! Bingo?! That’s amazing and I’m really excited to hear you did that.
I’ll pass along the good word to make font sizes larger. Are you playing on full screen?

  • Good morning, Pogo_Llama! I’m enjoying Sweet Tooth Town. It’s bright, colorful and fun. Great job on that game!

I have a question about the announcement about the retirement of some Java games. Does a game’s inclusion on that list mean that it will not be considered for conversion to Html5? Or is there still a glimmer of hope for some of them? Just wondering, because I sure will miss Thousand Island Solitaire! Thanks for all that you do to keep up in the loop!

    • Howdy and hello to you jnkmckay1103,
There’s always a chance. All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

      • Thanks for your reply. I definitely keep my eyes glued to the Construction Zone! It’s exciting to discover what new games and conversions are coming up. Thanks for everything and I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

  • If you found other ways of updating some of the games, why can’t you for pinochle and others? A lot of people play and enjoy some of the games you are getting rid of. Please look into saving them.

    • Hi Greenly09,
We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • I would like to change my screen name, is there any way I can do that thank you

  • There was an announcement that several Java games will be retired in June. The announcement did not mention whether purchased, uncompleted MnM and premium badges will be auto-rewarded when these games are removed. Will these badges be awarded?

    • The Badges all fellow Pogogians have purchased for the Java games will be auto-awarded after the June Java retirements.

  • Pogo llama youre so cool always interesting to see whats up next tc have a great day Js4629

    • Haha! Well thank you, Js. I never did think of myself as “cool” but I like it. :)

  • I was very sad to learn that several of my favorite games are going to be retired. I have been anticipating them being updated so that i could play them again. I hope that they will be reintroduced sometime in the future in the hotmail configuration.

    • Hi Bleatman, All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • Would love to see pogo addiction in HD

  • I was wondering if there was any news on making the following games HTML games. Thousand Island Solitaire, Dice City Rolls, Lottso, and Pogo Addiction Solitaire. I really miss Thousand Island Solitaire.

    Tleel club pogo member.

    • Hello there,
We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • Just wanted to say thanks for all the updates and while I miss getting tokens, I’ll adjust – change is a good thing, it’s keeps us from getting stale. Trizzle has become one of my favorite games and does take some thought to keep going and earning turns. Have a great day! :)

    • Thank you for your message, Amber. I appreciate your positive attitude and I know you will enjoy all that is to come here in Pogo. Have a really lovely weekend.

  • Sorry to see that the Java based Pogo Addiction Solitaire game is being retired on June 4th, 2019. Oh well, time and technology march on.

I am also a little bit sorry to see that the Java based Jigsaw Detective “game” is being retired. I like doing jigsaw puzzles, and I would have liked a Pogo version where I could do the puzzles in full screen mode.

I am glad to see that the Java based Word Search Daily game is being upgraded to HD/HTML.

I am also glad that Trizzle is coming out in HD on Thurday, Feb. 28 and that there will be a new HD Daily Sudoku game coming sometime in 2019.

Thanks for Poppit! Party Collection 2, changing the whip to Cotton Candy and the Greaser to Cool Cat.

Thanks for the new Sweet Tooth Town game. I am currently on Bakery – Tier 2. Antoinette certainly has large eyes.

Lastly, thanks Team Pogo for all the hard work you are doing upgrading games to HD/HTML and creating new games.

    • Hi quietdi,
Thank you so much for your feedback, I appreciate your thoughts on all the latest Pogo news.

  • I understand progress and the issues with Flash and Java and am resigned to those games going away. But, especially with the large number going away in June, is there any chance they would allow us to buy more than 5 extra Wednesday challenges per week? Maybe not for all Pogo games but just the ones being deleted? As a relative newcomer, I would love the chance to get as many of the Wednesday challenges as my time allows me, not just the 5 extra per week.

    Thanks

    • Howdy, HowdyDoody,
I will put in a request to the team to purchase more Wed Challenges per week. When about did you start playing here on Pogo? Welcome to Pogoland!

      • I appreciate you passing that on. I’ve been here a couple of years. But my goal has been to get all of the Wednesday challenges done. I noticed the # available going down a while ago and realized it was because of deleted games. So I had been doing 5 extra Flash games a week for a while. But now I’m in panic mode because of the Java deletions coming. I set up a spreadsheet to help me figure out which challenges were going away and in what order I should do them in. But as of now I have 215 Java challenges that I have to do by June, which at 5 a week is impossible. And that doesn’t include any new Flash game deletions that may be coming up soon. So my fingers are crossed that they allow more challenges to be bought :)

        • Thank you for providing me with this information, Howdy. That is, indeed, very organized of you and I’m impressed! I know you can do this and have fun while you achieve your Pogo badge goals. :)

  • Hi Pogo_Llama

When games are discontinued will they still be in the weekly albums as incomplete? Since they can not be completed will they be removed?

I apologize if this question has already been asked.
    Coffee

    • The Badges all fellow Pogogians have purchased for the Java games will be auto-awarded after the June Java retirements.

  • Must share this. Yesterday I awarded myself the Buckshot Challenge when I had NO bingos on any card (4) when playing Poppit Bingo. Absolutely no bingos, but the cards looked like they had been hit with buckshot. Used all available powerups. This was a first, although I have come close before. LOL

  • I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to keep a site as complex as pogo running smoothly, you do a heck of a job. You have the best gaming site on the web. congrats!!!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, bearly57. We appreciate having you here in Pogo.

  • What will happen with the mix & match and premium badges that have been purchased, but not yet completed?

    • The Badges all fellow Pogogians have purchased for the Java games will be auto-awarded after the June Java retirements.

  • I saw around here on POGO somewhere, Crazy Cakes will be back. That still the case? Thank you and the Team for all the work you do. PS Still LOVE Claire Hart. She keeps me around.

    • HI DivaGirl4U, All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • Can you bring some kind on Pino back in HTML so the league can continue to play here on pogo I learned to play it here with friends and would hate to not play with them, We all have become like family> m

  • I just want to add to my comments that I didn’t mean to say that I don’t like pogo! I have been a member for 14 years and I really do LOVE POGO! I spend a lot of time on pogo, especially since I am home bound for now, due to health issues. It keeps the mind alert, but I just wanted to point out what I consider some flaws. It is heartbreaking to see forum posts and chat from some members who are getting disenchanted with pogo because of extra hard badge requirements and the frustration of not being able to solve some badge requirements without the use of power ups. And I also appreciate the freebies you give members of badges and occasional power ups. I will continue to play on pogo and I thank you for the opportunity to voice my opinion.

    • Hi ComedyMoma,
I appreciate your heart-felt thoughts and I thank you for being a part of Pogo. I do hear what you’re saying and am here to listen.

  • I hope keep high stake pool qwety and foutne bingo and keno pop

  • Do you plan to redo makeover madness and crazy cakes? I certainly hope so.

    • Hi there, We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • I read your notice about the games which will be discontinued in June. Out of the about 20 games listed, 9 of them are solitaire or poker or other card games. It seems like most of the modern games being added to the POGO play list (other than Jet Set Solitaire and Solitaire Gardens) are Mahjong and jewel 3 match sorts of games (Sweet Tooth 2 type). There are many times when I just like to play solitaire, it is slower, quieter and provides a different game experience. I’ve been waiting for the past two years while this whole shift to HD takes place. And now it turns out that MOST of the games I played the most over the years before all the changes happened, are games that are not going to continue after June. Yes, some are hard to play, but I wonder if they are really harder to convert than the games you DID convert. I’m really sad that most of my favorite games are not available. (I also think that some players, especially, enjoy these games as they get older and just want to relax and play the quieter games.) It seems the games that are going away are the ones that were unique solitaire games. Blackjack Island, 1000 Island, Addiction, are three of the games which are going.

    PR Chris

    • Hi PR Chris,
I appreciate that you took the time to write in with your thoughts. I’m always here to listen. Thank you.

  • Please Leave Us The Pool Games as We Have Been Playing Them For Years And Enjoy Them More Than Any Other Games

  • I Am A Pool Player.I Like All Pool Games So I Would Like You To Keep Them On Here.

  • Since we have so many games being removed at once, would it be possible to get a free extra slot for challenges each week? It seems like a lot to ask for, but I personally have 12 badges left to do in one game alone. I’m sure a lot of other people do too. Thank you.

  • Are there any plans to produce a HTMP 5 version of Euchre?

    • Hi Bob,
There’s always a chance. All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • What happens to the badges/albums we PURCHASED, haven’t earned yet but can no longer play for with these new changes??? I know we won’t be getting any refunds, so how about replacement badges, hhmmm??

    • Hello Laria57,
The Badges all fellow Pogogians have purchased for the Java games will be auto-awarded after the June Java retirements. Thank you for asking and for playing Pogo.

  • hi Pogo Llama I just went into the new Sweet Tooth and it is a little confusing to me but it looks like its going to be fun to play. Once I get the hang of it I will buy the Sweet Tooth Album. It’s one of the last albums I can purchase. I have bought all of them except Sweet Tooth and Slots . I loved all of the albums . THANK YOU POGO

  • How do I give gems to a POGO friend?

    • Hi Gracehstar1,
Great, great question! While it’s not possible to gift Gems to another player here in Pogo, you can purchase a Badge and then gift those to a fellow Pogian.

  • I love all the badge marathons and everything but sometimes it feels like you have too many of them happening at the same time. I am limited to the amount of computer time to play games and it makes it difficult to complete everything. Plus I am getting kinda tired of the solitaire games. Seems like you have them all the time. And also I am not a big fan of Quinns Aquarium, Solitaire Gardens and Mahjong Escape. But have been a Club Pogo member for I believe 12 years now and tho I am not a big fan of solitaire games I still try to manage to play each day. Happy for Trizzle.

  • Pogo_Llama,

Please tell the pogo team that both of the new games, Sweet Tooth Shop and the new Trizzle, are completely freaking awesome and I love them both. The animation on Trizzle is the absolute best. The different shops in Sweet Tooth Shop is fantastic. I also love the fact that there are no two boards alike. WAY TO GO, TO ALL INVOLVED IN THESE AMAZING GAMES…….

  • The games I play are Euchre, canasta, pinocle, hearts and spades. if these are phased out, will there be a replacement for these games?

    • Hi venusdarly,
There’s always a chance. All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • are you going to convert Lottso? I hope so because it is the reason I am a member.

    • Hi Kirsha,
There’s always a chance. All I can say is to keep an eye on this blog. We post all game updates in the Construction Zone section of this Pogo Insider blog. When I hear of any of these games being transferred over to HD, I’ll definitely let you all know. Thanks so much for asking.

  • I enjoy Shuffle Bump. It would be nice to see that in HD please.

  • I was a little disappointed with Sweet Tooth Town. (Always gotta be one, right?) Unlike Sweet Tooth 2, you can’t move diagonally.

    • Hi Marko,
Thanks for your feedback on Sweet Tooth Town. And yes, there’s always going to be some that like it and some that do not. :)
