Blog Post #82 – July 3, 2018

Hello Pogoians!

Happy July 3rd to you all. Happy Canada Day, a day when we celebrate Canada’s independence, which occurred on July 1st! Happy 4th of July to those in America, too!

It’s the first Pogo Insider of the month, and what a beautiful month it will be. First up, Poppit! Bingo is the Game of the Month this month. Click here for more information on what Poppit! Bingo as July’s Game of the Month entails.

Oh! There’s also a Badge Marathon that will begin on Thursday, July 5. Make sure to watch out for that informative article on Thursday. And seriously, have fun! The games that are listed include some of my very favorites, like Jewel Academy.

Did you hear the great news? Last week, we announced that Scrabble and Monopoly are here to stay. Please see this article for the announcement.

This is not only going to be a terrific week, but a terrific month, as well. We  have lots of little surprises in store for you.

More Stack’em! You all enjoyed the last round of Stack’em character profiles so much, that I asked the team to create the remaining three for you!

Welcome to the Construction Zone! Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

Game Updates

HTML 5-Based Games Menu Bar – If you swing by your favorite HTML5-based game, you may notice something new. We added a quick-and-easy Menu Bar to the right side of the screen. Please click here for more information.

Jet Set – New levels coming in July.

Quinn’s Aquarium – New Aquarium in July: Part1 of the Jellyfish Tank. Collect Jellyfish and 10 new Badges!

Pogo Sudoku – We’ve worked to improve the appearance of the game for different monitors, so everything is easier to read. We’ve also changed the “How to Play” to a “?” button.

World Class Solitaire – We’ve improved the appearance of the cards.

Crossword Cove HD – We’ve worked to improve the appearance of the game text here, too. A “Play” button has been added, and when you complete a puzzle a menu will pop up allowing you to “Submit” the puzzle. Additionally, we’ve fixed it so hitting backspace won’t cause you to leave a puzzle, and we’ve also fixed the “Still Playing?” window for players who are using the keyboard to complete puzzles.

Poppit! Party – A number of improvements went out in the release last night! We’ve improved the appearance of text for different monitors and made overall changes to the quality of art including Spike animations. We’ve also  added a “ballooning…” label while loading spike animations and a “New game” button. The team also fixed  the cleaning countdown after clean a costume. I do not yet have any new information about new costumes for this game, but the team knows that this is a frequently asked-for item!

New Games

Stack’em HD, Postcards from Britain, and A Way With Words were all released recently. Please do have fun and enjoy!

Upcoming new Pogo games – The Pogo team is working on new games at this very moment! However, we’re also doubling down our focus to make sure the new sign-in experience is great and to make sure that you get all the help you need. As such, while we are still actively working on games, there will likely not be any new game releases until after October. This is subject to change but I did want to give you all a heads up about it as this section will remain empty for a bit. We WILL continue to update games and fix known issues (which will still be covered in the other Construction Zone sections).

Known Issues

Jet Set Solitaire – FIXED! Players were not taken to the next screen after completing Kyoto. This was fixed with last night’s release.

Gem Transaction History – FIXED! Players were unable to see the item name within the Gem Transaction record page under My Account Billing & Subscription. This has been fixed with last night’s release.

CLUE – The team was aware of an issue in which some players who purchase episodes were still seeing a newly purchased episode appear as not-yet-purchased. This has been resolved.

Multiple Games – Some players have reported seeing odd images for Rank Points. The images include $ and % signs. The team has investigated this issue and have found it to be an issue to those playing on the Safari browser while using the Mac Operating System. There is a fix in the works and this should be released in a later update in July. Please note: this does not affect gameplay or Rank status.

Google Chrome browser – Some players who are using the Google Chrome browser are receiving notifications that Pogo is not a secure site. This is due to Chrome changing their settings. Pogo is currently working with Chrome on updating things on our end to comply with the new standards that Chrome uses. Please understand that Pogo is still secure while using the Google Chrome browser.

Website updates

Pogo recommendations and specifications for your computer – The team has updated the recommended specifications for playing Pogo games smoothly; please click here in order to find out more about these recommendations to help ensure that Pogo games run more smoothly on your computer.

New Pogo Sign-In Experience – New Pogo sign-in experience will be starting to roll out in July and will end in October. Please click here to read more about the latest on this. Click here for an FAQ. Click here for the latest blog article that was just released today.

Chat – (No new update). We’re reviewing new chat solutions. I thank you for your feedback in the blogs on your Pogo chat experience. I’ve collected the feedback and alerted the Pogo team.

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. Should I create an EA account after changing or updating the email on any of my Pogo accounts?

A. No, you should not create an EA account if you are creating a new email address. If you do this, the new email will be associated with the new EA account and not your Pogo account.

A reminder that I am away this week after today, so comments for this Pogo Insider will not be turned on. However, I will return “live” for comments in the next Pogo Insider which will be Tuesday, July 17.

Have a safe and fun week.

You matter,

Pogo Llama
