Here are a few images of the NEW Crossword Cove HD!

Mini Mall Preview

Spring has sprung! Well, as long as you’re not in a place where you’ve been dealing with Nor’Easters! Pogo Rachael has dropped by with a preview of spring looks from this Thursday’s release. She also wanted me to let you know that this Thursday’s Collectible of the Month was a special request from the forums: Cheetahs! You’ll be able to see that Mini this Thursday, too.

Welcome to the newest section in the Pogo Insider. Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

Game Updates

Jet Set Solitaire – New levels being planned to be released in May.

Poppit! Party – I have relayed your many awesome requests for more costumes in Poppit! Party to the Pogo team. As of right now, however, I do not have an update for you on this request.

CH2 updates going out 4/24– You will be prompted when you go back to the episode selector rather than immediately taking you there and losing progress. Also, if you hit continue during results scene, dialogue text will be fixed. Sound volume adjusted, too.

New Games

Quinn’s Aquarium – New story-based Mahjong game coming in April.

Crossword Cove – New H5 version coming in May.

Stack’em – New H5 version coming in June.

A Way with Words – New word game coming in summer.

Known Issues

Phlinx II – Diamond Badge awarding prematurely and balls dropping much more frequently in Celestial making game play increasingly harder. The Pogo team is aware of this and working on a solution.

Vanishing Trail and Grub Crawl – Visual updates will be added on April 24th.

Friends List – Users will be able to add/remove users that have space in screen name from friends/blocked lists. This was fixed and pushed out in this morning’s release.

New Pogo Sign-In Experience – Facebook Connect has been disconnected as of today, April 10, 2018. It will end on the mobile app in April. See article here for more information. Please note this only affects those who login to Pogo using Facebook at this time.

New header – The Pogo team has redesigned the header for While there aren’t a lot of changes, we did redesign it for easier player navigation. Quick tip: To get back to the homepage, simply click on the image of the house. Here’s a picture to visually help out.

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. How do I make Claire Hart 2: Secrets in the Shadows full screen?

A. Did you know that ALL of Pogo’s HTML 5 games can be made into full screen? Yes, it’s true and I’m super happy about it as I know it’s been widely requested. The Pogo art team whipped up directions on how to make your HTML 5 game into full screen. Please click this link here and you’ll see an example from (the new) Claire Hart 2: Secrets in the Shadows.

The sun is shining here today and that makes me so happy. I hope the sun is shining by you, too. And if it’s not, I hope that it will be shining very, very soon. Have a terrific week, everyone. Oh! And please feel free to add your suggestions for the crab’s name for the new Crossword Cove HD in the comments section below.

  • I would like to see the crab called Kathy Klackers :)

  • I know that I’m not allowed to post negative comments but I’ll try.
I’m very disappointed with World Class Solitaire.
I enjoyed the old version and had it as my #1 Favorite.
    I no longer play it.
Slow, no thinking required, reminds me of how Free Cell was ruined a few years ago
by making the cards small & unintelligible to older folks.
But I’m still here, I Will Survive!.

    • Hi Lincoln,
You are absolutely allowed to post negative comments. I do ask that you explain why you do not like something. We all have our own opinions in what we like and dislike, and I totally celebrate that because that is what makes the world such a unique place. However, if you do not like something, I’d like to know the why, specifically, so I can take that information to the Pogo team and they can use that information to make things more pleasing to the audience as a whole. So when you went on to say why you do not enjoy the new WCS, I appreciated that. Thank you and I will take your feedback to our team.

  • Already such great names for the crab. I originally thought he looked like a pinchie.
Good luck to you and the team picking out just a few names to vote on!!!! You have your work cut out for you!!

  • Captain

  • How about Clawd for the crabs name.

  • how about SEA SALT—or OLD SALTY

  • Welcome to Crabby Shack Shore

  • How about Crusty

  • Patty Crabby

  • The crabs name should be Sebastian.

    • Thank you for returning to Pogo, wartergirl2002! Welcome back and I’m so happy you’re enjoying all the newness here in Pogo. Let me know what your new favorite game is sometime. Take care.

  • My favourite badges were the old school Special Edition badges with the “Special Edition” banners at top and bottom.

I’m hard at work trying to get all the weekly Crossword Cove badges before the game is replaced. If I miss any, will I still be able to complete the badge albums for those years?

    • Hi Meewee,

  • How about Qwerty the Crab :)

  • I have a question for you, Llama: In regard to Claire Hart 2, when I read through the introduction to the new game, I found it a bit confusing. The best way I can explain what I’m confused about is to compare CH 2 with, Say, Big City Adventure. In BCA, a new city will be introduced, and episodes will be released until the 12 days of the city adventure are complete, then the next city will be introduced, and it repeats. Virtually ALL the episodic games work this way.

BUT, when I read CH 2, it sounds like Case 1 will be introduced with some number of episodes, then case 2 will be introduced–then another episode for Case 1; then Case 3 introduced, with another for Case 1 then Case 3, then another Case 1, and a bunch of Case 2 episodes, etc.

I guess I am wondering if: CH 2 will operate like other games, episodes will be introduced sequentially until the Case is complete, then another case will be introduced until it is finished, etc. Or will there be additions to cases that have been dormant for awhile, and then go back to another case, etc. If so, how will we know when a Case is complete?

As you can tell, I am confused.

    • I confirmed with Pogo Rachael that CH2 will work like BCA and the other HOGs. Once a Case is done, there will not be any new episodes added to it. This is a great question and I thank you for asking it, SoCalSailor!

  • Sandy or Sandi like a small sandy cove (crossword cove)

  • Snappy Crab.

  • WOW such great creative names already. I thought when I first looked at it, he was afraid and running waving his claws. So, with that in mind, how about

    Fraidy or Freddy the crab

  • CLyde

  • What happened to the “Home’ tab? How do you go from a game back to home page?

    • Hi Lmjp2000,
The home button on the new header is still there. It’s now in the form of a house. Please read the Construction Zone section of the blog for more info and a visual. Thank you.

  • I nominate “Clarence”.

  • There’s an old Navy tradition (world wide, as far as I know), “Crossing the Line” Naval warships which cross the equator have a ceremony welcoming sailors into Davy Jones’ Realm, where Neptunus Rex, kind of the watery realm conducts a court to judge the qualifications of those who cross. Those sailors aboard who have never crossed the equator before are known as polywogs; while those who have crossed, and have been initiated into Davy Jones’ Realm, are known as “Shellbacks”…since our crab obviously has a shell and he is salty and well traveled, and in honor of a centuries old Naval tradition, Call him

    Shellback (Maybe shelly, for short)

  • My name for the crab would be Ms. Crabella Crawler.

  • Herman or Hermit

  • “Lexi” might work, tying in to lexicon.

  • Mortimer

  • I like Chuck or Chuckie.

  • You have a lot of good names thrown at you. Good luck choosing. Or choose a few names & let the members vote for the final name.

New Header: I hate when you move the tabs around. LOL.

    • Haha yes it’s going to be hard to pick the names!
The header will become your friend, just you watch. :)

  • will the new crossword cove be the american version?

  • I think the crabs name should be Orange Pinchers .

  • He looks like a Calvin to me.

  • CRUSTY, or Crusty Cove

  • In a nod to San Francisco (and Fisherman’s Wharf) how about Crab Louie.

  • Suggestions for the name of the new Crossword Cove Crab:
    Crabby Patty
Crusty — seems to be a favorite of others
    Rusty Crusty Crab
    Crimson Crab

  • Lovely new graphics for CC. Do hope something comes about that will let me keep my rank stats as I’ve got nearly 10 years of progress in it and ranked out. Same for all other games. Love being able to see how far I’ve progressed through the years!

    • Hi rilae,
Thanks for the comment. The ranks from the old Flash version of Crossword Cove will not be carried over to the new HD version. Thank you.

  • I think Sandy Claws would be a good name.
