Blog Post #55 – December 19, 2017

Hello Pogoians,

Wow! Today is December 19th and time sure has flown by this year. How is the weather over by you? Do you have snow yet? My parents sent me a few pictures of a fresh snowfall from last week over in Wisconsin. Boy oh boy is it beautiful, but I remember how that lots of snow was not so beautiful to drive in. Be safe out there if you have snow and ice in your part of the world.

According to an online source, today is Ugly Sweater Day. How fun! Do you have an ugly sweater? Mine has a llama on it and I do not think it’s ugly so I guess it’s not really an ugly sweater.

Oh! There are new levels in Cookie Connect that were just added today. If you haven’t yet, check em out and have fun!

This is a picture of Angus McPrickely. He was sent over by a fellow member of the Pogo Community. I believe he’s Spike’s cousin and he’s just too cute not to share.  You know what I love? The Pogo Community!

Sneak Peek

Sparks! Who doesn’t love a good game of Sparks, right? Pogo artist, Tony especially enjoys Sparks and it shows in his grand creation for Sparks for the upcoming New Years Eve Limited Edition Badge!
“We go back in time for this year’s New Year’s Eve Limited Edition Badge. When a medieval Pyro Technician arrives at a castle just before midnight, the very excited King gets the celebrations started early when he accidently ignites the fireworks inside his Throne Room.”
Check out the badge and sketch. I adore this king! Fist up in the air and the smile on his face…so much energy!

Mini Mall Preview

We’re continuing our holiday theme with this week’s Mini Mall release on Thursday. Pogo_Rachael is stopping by with her preview, as usual!

“This holiday season is already shaping up to be bright, and I think our Mini team is keeping up with that. There’s an animated Angel costume in this upcoming release that I really, really like. Though it’s hard not to laugh at the dog trying to attack a gingerbread man, right? We have a few free New Year’s items for you to check out. While I’m here, I’ll remind you that the next release in early January will be a sale that’s focused on some out-of-this world style Minis (fairies and aliens, which is an interesting combo if you ask me!). Have a safe and happy holiday!”

12 Days of Pogo

We are pretty much right in the middle of the 12 Days of Pogo. Did you know there are some freebies? Yup, it’s true! Click here to read all about it.

questions_headerEvery week I answer a question or two (non-technical) related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. To submit your questions for the Pogo Insider, click here!

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. When will we get new levels for Jet Set Solitaire and Jewel Academy?

A. I’ve received this question from a number of Pogoians and all I can say is wow, you are all Pogo superstars! To have finished all of the levels already in the two newest Pogo games is simply amazing. I asked Pogo_Joe (and the rest of the team on those games) and there is not a specific date for when those new levels will be available. I did check and have told them of your request. Guess what? I will keep you posted here, on the Pogo Insider, when I know of any new levels. Reminder: did you see there are NEW levels in Cookie Connect that were just released today?!

Pogo_Limes just brought in some fruit cake so I have to see what that looks like. What’s your favorite holiday treat?

Have a great week and we’ll see you here next week.

  • the new HTML games R superlative…wonderful graphics and most R fun to play, except Phlinx 2. The game is TOO hard and it doesnt help when U have to repeat a whole screen just because U couldnt clear the bonus part. This needs to be fixed because I wont play it like this.

    • Hi kitfoo3,
Thanks for your feedback. Phlinx II is definitely a challenge. I’m glad you enjoy most of the other H5 games. :)

  • Pogo Llama,

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and the enitre Pogo Staff and Pogo Mods a Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas.

I have been reading the Blogs and the forums this momth. First, thank you for the 12 days of Pogo and all the surprises and gifts. Those that expect something free daily, I suggest they go back and re-read what is says. It doesn’t promise something FREE everyday.

The weather here is wonderful and I’m hoping it stays a sunny mild 50’s here in Pennsylvania. .

I love that expression- Holy Mylanta!! I will be incorporating it into a mini shortly. LOL. There is a mini goodie of Pepto Bismol (until Pogo comes up with a giant bottle of Mylanta.)

One last thing. I was in the supermarket the other day. The woman behind the fish counter had a blinking knit hat which read- FA LA LA LA LLAMA. Clearly it had a llama on it too.. I asked her where she got it and she said the boys department at Kohl’s. I thought I’d pass that on to you.

To everyone reading the blogs in Pogo, have the happiest of holidays with your family. May all your days be merry and bright.

    • That’s really sweet of you to ask that lady where she purchased the llama hat from. Thank you! I do have a llama hat that is shaped like a llama, but I do not have one that I feel I can really wear outside the house, lol.

I love using “Oh Mylanta!” quite a bit. I definitely encourage you to add it into conversation.
You have a great and happy holiday season as well. Take care and stay warm over there in PA.

  • Merry Christmas, Pogo Llama and the entire Pogo team! You’ve done a wonderful job of keeping us Pogoians abreast of the many goings-on in and around Pogoland. Thank you for that! I’m forever impressed with the variety of games available to us players, as well as new game additions from time to time. Much has improved since I first stumbled into Pogo 11 years ago. Be well and many blessings for 2018! Lyn

    • Thank you, Josamue9Player! I appreciate your comment very much. Have an excellent and merry Christmas.

  • Hi to everyone out there in POGO Land. I wanted to write and tell POGO thank you for all their hard work this year and for the best 12 days of Christmas ever. !2 free badges, free mini items, sales on games, etc. It’s all been great.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Chanukah. Christmas here in Maine will be white. Uggg. Lol. Happy New Year, too. God bless, Daffielyn

  • To all the employees at EA GAMES and POGO Players have a safe Holiday & a Happy New Year!! A special thank you to the many artists who create all these **BADGES!** I just want you to know that you have made me into a BADGE JUNKIE!! I can’t keep up with the in flow of badges, I am doing 20 or so every week! and I look around & you are creating more & more! Even my two cats are starting to look at me funny, I am constantly talking to my screen! But don’t stop now!! There is always room for a few more badges, here in DF LAND!!

    • Thank you so much, DFDRUID. 20+ Badges a week?! That’s amazing. Congratulations and thank you.
Happy holidays to you and your two cats.

  • Just a thought on weekly challenges from a 14 year member: Avoid making challenges that encourage repetition of only one level of a game. For example, both of this week’s challenges require a specific item. I just finished 8 levels of Solitaire Garden but found only one dirt pile. Therefore, I’m thinking I should go back to the dirt pile game and play it 50+ more times. This is absurdity! It’s a waste of time and it’s frustrating and boring.

    • Thank you very much for your feedback on weekly Challenges, thenacor. Take care and have a great week.

  • Thank you Pogo staff for the great items in 12 Days of Pogo. I am enjoying completing the challenges. Holiday greetings to all at Pogo

  • Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to You Pogo Llama! My favorit Holiday treat Is Egg Nog my grandma who came from Wales and my grandfather who haled from Ireland came to the USA a long time ago way before I was a twinkle in my mother and Papa(Daddy’s) eyes! She churned her own butter and she made several holiday treats one of which was Egg Nog! It was so yummy and passed down through my family! I have so many fond memories of Egg Nog and Plum Pudding…Now my generation is the elders of the Family! It is my pleasure to carry on the tradition! What Joy it brings to my heart! I’ve been gone due to eye surgery on my left eye but I made it home to make it to the marathon and I did it! Thanks for the Insider and to all the staff here in Pogoland! So many good friends too!

    • Now that sounds like some delicious egg nog (and plum pudding). Cannot say I’ve ever had plum pudding but it sure sounds good.
I’m so glad you’re back and I hope your surgery went really well. Congratulations on completing the marathon and thank you! Merry Christmas and happiest of new years, safirerlover.

  • I love Scrabble. Are there any plans to increase the levels in Scrabble? Thank you.
