Blog Post #120 – December 17, 2019

Hello Pogoians!

Welcome to December 17 and the Pogo Insider! I hope you’ve been enjoying the 25 Days of Pogo, our biggest event of the year! Intrepid Pogo Mod Skratty put together a helpful 25 Days of Pogo thread on the forums. Stop by and take a look!

Have you tried out the Exclusive Early Access HD games yet?!

The Pogo team is working overtime to transfer over player-favorite Flash and Java games and we have so much lined up for 2020!

I have a real special treat for you here today. Nooooo… not warm and gooey chocolate chip cookies, but a real helpful treat. It’s time for a Q&A with Pogo Bean from EA Help!

Pogo Llama: It’s a real honor to have one of the members of EA Help here today. EA Help (also known as Customer Support) is where you go for all Pogo help needs! In a recent Pogo Insider, I asked you all to share your questions, and you did not disappoint! So without further ado, let’s get Pogo Bean in here to answer the top questions from the community. Welcome, Pogo Bean!

Pogo Bean: Hi, I’m so excited to be here!

Pogo Llama: I am super excited you’re here as well. Can you please tell us a bit about your Pogo and EA history?

Pogo Bean: I started working for EA in 2014 as a phone advisor and fell in love with Pogo from the first day of training. Since then I’ve worked in just about every part of EA support, from being the first person players talk to when they have an issue to a specialist to help with those extra tricky cases. I’m currently a Live Product Support Expert and act as both a business analyst and a communication hub for information getting to all advisors.

Pogo Llama: Wow, what a mouthful! Okay, so let’s get into some player questions. Here’s the first one: How does a player contact Pogo’s customer support team?

Pogo Bean:  One thing to note is that our team is identified as EA Help and there are two paths that players can take to start. The one most Pogo players are probably familiar with is through selecting the Help option on This takes players directly to a page with several support options. By clicking on “Contact Us”, players will be taken to a page that will let them select what type of response service they’d like, such as chat or a call back. One thing to keep in mind is that EA Help does NOT have a phone number for players to call. There are a number of sites out there that call themselves Pogo Customer support and we want everyone to know those are not legitimate sites. Please click here for more information on that.

This second option is a bit of self help and is really neat because it has articles with answers to common issues, which is great if you like to fix things on your own. If the articles don’t help, players can also create a case at the bottom of that screen. Once a case is created the paths converge and the case is routed to one of our advisors who can provide help with account issues, technical issues, and even missing content.

Pogo Llama: Did you play Pogo before you started as a Pogo agent?

Pogo Bean: I did not. I only learned about Pogo during training to be an advisor with EA Help. But as soon as I started, I couldn’t stop! My favorite Pogo games are Canasta, Jungle Gin, Pogo Addiction Solitaire, and I’ve had a nearly impossible time putting down the new Jigsaw Treasure Hunter HD.

Pogo Llama: I agree with you on Jigsaw Treasure Hunter HD. I LOVE it, too! Next question, “Why do we hear ‘Wait 24 hours and see if you receive credit or clear your cache?’ from support now and then?”

Pogo Bean: These are very common answers for a lot of different issues, but they each address a specific root cause. Waiting 24 hours to see if credit is given can help ensure anything missing is actually missing and not just caused by a delay. Clearing cache is one of the very best and most standard browser troubleshooting steps. A browser’s cache basically holds certain data in storage to make loading faster, but sometimes that stored data is no longer accurate and causes a wide array of issues. Clearing the cache makes sure all the data that loads is data that should load.

Pogo Llama: Very informative! So what is the most popular method of help request from players? Phone, Chat, or Email?

Pogo Bean: For Pogo, phone is by far the preferred method of contacting EA Help, but I think chat is the overall most preferred across all of EA’s titles.

Pogo Llama: Another player question, “Sometimes when I report an issue or contact EA Help, I never get a reply. How can that be?”

Pogo Bean: If you do not receive a response within a reasonable amount of time, please check with EA Help. You can resume any case created by choosing “Manage Your Account” and selecting “My Cases.”

Pogo Llama: I’d like to close out with a heart-felt comment from Pogo player, Busman145rcs,  “I would like to take the opportunity to say thanks to EA help. They have been very helpful with answers to my problems. They answered quickly and professionally with easy to understand fixes. Thanks again.”

Pogo Bean: Aww! I love hearing comments like this! Helping players get back in the game is really what we’re all about. Thank you so much for sharing this with me!

I’d like to thank Pogo Bean for taking some time from her busy EA Help schedule to answer our questions! If you have any more questions for Pogo Bean, please feel free to let me know by commenting below.

As a reminder, I’m unable to troubleshoot account issues here on the Pogo Insider. I encourage you to contact EA Help if you are experiencing issues with games loading, missing content, and all other Pogo account issues. Thank you!

Welcome to the Construction Zone! Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

  • For previously posted Pogo website updates, please read the archived Pogo Insiders.

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. Why is this age verification page popping up?

A. You may notice a new prompt on Pogo asking you to verify your age. This applies to all non-Club Pogo members, including guest users. This prompt was originally on Pogo Classic and today will start on Early Access. The age verification prompt is one part of EA’s compliance with laws and regulations. Club Pogo Members do not need to verify and can simply sign in to avoid seeing the prompt.

  • Yes i would like to see Canasta and Spades in H.D.I love the new Pogo,Merry Christmas L1ama and Pogo Staff!

  • Any plans on including Kakuro (Cross Sums) into the lineup. Kind like Crossword Words for numbers.

  • I’m in shock that Mahjong Escape is on the list as it was one of the newer games. Are you planning on converting to HTML. Also, surprised about Canasta and several other games. My frustration with Pogo is it seems you’d rather create brand new games, than covert older games that are loved to the newer format. Please focus on converting pogo games right now. Any plans on Penguin Blocks, Stellar Sweeper conversion?
I’ve been a Club Pogo member since 2003 and played on Pogo a year or two before that. I’ve loved Pogo all these years, just not sure what will be left with all the changes and whether it is worth it to stay a member.

  • We keep hearing there are many new games in the works. Will you please let us know what they are even if they are a few months away. This info is important to a lot of people and many are saying they won’t renew. With a bit more info we can all make a more informed decision.
    Thank you and Merry Christmas!

  • We need more chapters for Clue!! and more Hidden Objects games please.

  • I was really disappointed to see that Solitaire Gardens and Mahjong Escape will not be kept. They really aren’t very old. Although I like new things most of the time, I can’t find anything that I really like in the new version of Pogo. The graphics are wonderful but I don’t need them. I need my mini and would like chat. I need power ups, I have very little patience lol however, the cost keeps going up and up. Mahjong Sanctuary is a real gem grabber sigh When Club Pogo first started, it was lots of fun the games came along slowly with a lot of competition with friends – I can’t remember gems back then. Tokens were great then and each million was a thrill.
Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year to all players and staff!

  • Instead of taking all of these games away can you not change them over to hlm5? I mean our league that we play on you re taking away almost every single game so i guess that means thats an end to leagues on pogo? there so many people up set and wanting to leave pogo. I have also been a member for over 18 years and thinking about leaving your taking away stuff we have worked on building up ie tokens and badges and games we love playing on I agree your taking the fun away that we used to enjoy playing on pogo with friends is there a reason you can not update instead of taking away these games? our league was built on DCR and lost a lot of players when you took that away and taking all of these games away will put the finale nail in the coffin to the end of our league.

  • you really need to have poker updated, many ppl will be leaving this site, we are a large group of old members and have played poker for all these yrs. Please update poker

  • I have left some messages that I knew you wouldn’t post but this one is a real question I think we would all like to know yes you have done great with the new games you have made but I see several ones that people don’t really like becoming hd and ones people love not it is so changed from what the site pogo was why didn’t you just end pogo in march and call the new site something else that would have made a lot of sense cause pogo isn’t pogo on the new site big part of the success I believe what how we could make friends and connect not to just people in the states but around the world I have made friends that I even have made trips to visit I have one friend that we have visited a lot and I now known for 17 years now that I would have never met if it wasn’t for pogo and people I have met that have got married finding that person on pogo the games mean a lot but the social community interacting with each other means a lot especially with disabled people like me I have met so many wonderful people over the years now I am feeling like I am losing all that I want a reason to play pogo over other free games and for me that is having chat and friends list and pogo mail as I said your new site is nice but I don’t see pogo in it well ty for reading this.

  • Well I am one of those who enjoyed Golf Solitaire for over 6 years and met many a Pogo player there and made plenty of friendships! I know that I and many of my friends would like to see that game continue under the new format! Boggle bash is also a game that Pogo may loose many a player if THAT GAME IS NOT CONTINUED. Merry Christmas to all and May the New Year bring many of us players are greatest hope to see games returned.

  • I would love to see Lottso , Bowling , Dice city roller and Yah party Done in HD. Or I wont be renewing either… these are the games ive been playing for 13 yrs and I like many others feel unheard and ripped off by pogo. I do not like the new early access, very childish and busy. When they take all the games away in march , there will be no reason to play pogo anymore, I joined pogo because of CHAT, playing games with my friends they are taking all the games that you can chat and play. But what hurts the most is in the new early access we have to use cartoon characters as minis..this is not fair we dont get a choice to use our minis instead. We paid gems for thousands of items over the years. Llama can u please ask them if we are going to get repaid or credited some how ? We bought those items and in the early access we cant even see them never mind use them. So when the new format takes over where will all our purchased items go ? Please answer because most of my ?’s have never been answered.

  • We need a lot of these games that are being retired to be converted to HD like Lottso, Spades, Bingo Lau, Everyone Wins Bingo, Dice City Roller, Pogo Bowl, KenoPoP, PoppaZoppa. Please and thank you. I’d also like to comment that I’m not impressed with the new experience, it’s all over the place and not simple and cute like the original page.

  • Happy Holidays to everyone — Staff and players.
Over the years Pogo has been the main reason for getting up in the morning for many , especially handicapped, and those with no means to get around or socializing. What a blast they all had.
But your new way, though no fault of yours, seem to be a very dull , harder to play, dark colored , no tokens and chats . We have no reason to play for no way to tell if we did good when half the games will not work or hard to see. And no way to keep connected to the world. So yes, I am sorry after 14 years to say, please bring more good games back in some form like Mono. slots. I live buy that game. LOL> sorry to say I am addicted to it. I play at 2 and 3 AM even., when can not sleep.
we do thank you all for your trying to help us but Gems have also made it hard to play when no money to buy . But thanks again and I hope you all do well in the new year.

    • Thank you for your comment, Toots. I’m so glad Pogo has been there for you especially when you’re unable to sleep.

  • I have seen the update about the PBAs retiring and that we wont be able to work on completing them after that, but I have a question. What about the Marathon Albums? Are they going to retire and be unavailable for us to work on after March 10th too? I have only 4 regular PBA badges left to do, but I doubt I could finish all the Marathon Albums by March unless I could do it while sleeping lol. Whether I can finish them or not, I’m staying with POGO.
There are games that I’m still waiting and hoping make it to html/hd. I miss Penguin Blocks (the one I most miss), Qwerty, Dice Derby, Quick Quack, Dice City Roller, Shuffle Bump, WordJong, Thousand Island Solitaire, Perfect Pair Solitaire and so many others that its hard to list them all. Almost any Java game the Pogo team converts I will be happy to see come back. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that more converted Java games are coming. I have Flash favorites too, like Yahtzee Party, Dominoes, Canasta and Boggle Bash. I know remaking the games in html takes time so I haven’t given up hope though the waiting and not knowing is hard.

I hope you and all those at Pogo have a Merry Christmas.

  • I wasn’t happy to see the latest list of games to be removed in March. Please keep Boggle Bash, Dice City Roller and Pogo Bowl. Those have always been 3 of my favorites, and it would be great to see them updated to html5 in the future.

  • please add the chat space to the games I joined to play with my sister and friends. the chat space was always beside the game so we could play and talk. Also what about qwerty are you bringing that back
    thank you fzzy38

  • keep pogo bowl please…and minis

  • I am submitting a request to add Solitaire Gardens and Big City Adventures to the list of games that will be converted to HTML. I have noticed that all of the new hidden object games look very much alike and I’m not fond of the new look. Does HTML limit the visuals of hidden object games so they all will look like this?

I’m sure that many games won’t make the cut, but I really love these two.

  • i am not happy with new pogo either – and i suppose one day i will log on and all my flash minis will be gone – what a tragedy – i love those animated ones – the kitties and the backgrounds

just saying hope u would try and save our minis

  • Please keep Canasta. It is my favorite game. My sister and I play everyday for hours. This is our way of keeping in touch. Thank you very much. Merry Christmas to Pogo and EA.

  • PLEASE bring Solitaire Gardens over PLEASE!!! I just love that game !!

  • How do unblock Adobe Flash Player?

    • Hello Zoano!

Great question and thanks for asking. Please click here for a helpful how-to guide one of our Pogo community members put together on the Pogo forums. Please let me know if you need more help. Thank you!

  • Thank you.

  • I am very disappointed that Canasta is going- one of my favorites. Any chance of it returning in the future?

  • I still love to play Pogo but I have to agree that I am not a fan of the new format. It is very hard to move around the screen because it is (in my opinion) very busy. Also, I am having a hard time starting a challenge on a particular game that I would like to play that day. I have to admit that the classic format made it a lot easier. If I am missing something, please let me know. Thanks and have a Merry Christmas all!

  • pogo i have been a member a very long time and i do enjoy playing all of the games. over the years i have worked very hard to earn over 10,000 badges. i am very upset that you are willing to drop all of the slot games. and i cant not understand why you would take off the very first two games that pogo started with. i will have to think hard about renewing my membership after all the years with pogo.i started playing bingo in 1999 and i cant believe you would get rid of this game. i would like to let you know if you take these games off you will lose alot of you curret members we will just find another site to play on. this is a sad day for alot of loyal pogo players. mikel6733

  • There are no arcade or sports games on Early Access. None at all. I hope Pogo will add a few. Especially a mini golf game or pool. I really miss Boardwalk Seaball and Quick Quack, too.

  • Please port Pogo Bowl over to the new HD format.

  • I agree with some of previous comments. Please convert to H; Dice City Rollers, Pogo Bowl. Merry Christmas to all

  • Hi Pogo Llama & Pogo Friends
    Are Ur🥛&🍪s Ready,Did You hang your🧦s w/Care. Are your🎁s Under The 🎄.Cause🎅Is Coming to Town🎄⛪🏘️ ♥ ᴰᵒᶰᶰᵃ

    • Wow! Love this! And yup, I have it all set out and ready for Santa! (Except the cookies, as we can’t keep them on the plate in this house!)

  • What I would like to know is WHAT is going to happen to all of our mini items that we have purchased with gems that we have BOUGHT and PAID FOR….are our mini’s and our mini items just going to disappear into cyber space OR will we still have our stuff? Many are asking this very same question among each other…COULD SOMEONE PLEASE JUST BE HONEST AND TELL US??

  • I’ve been wondering when POGO is going to fix problems with games? They keep bringing out new ones but don’t fix the old. Scrabble – I keep getting the message “your time is out” and I just got my turn to play. Anagram – needs a shuffle and a list of words we miss. Crossword Cove I keep getting the message “are you still playing” and I’ve just played a word. Last is Jet Set – when you went back into the game it used to take you were you left of, now it brings up Sydney then and also after you play a round. Thanks for letting me spout off.

  • Will there be any game like monopoly slots where we will be able to play and see other player’s minis while we are playing. I love visiting with other players. Seems that will be gone.

  • Most of the pogonians are older people that come here to interact with others that have become friends over the years because of loyalty to you pogo. Older people prefer card games, its’ what we do. We like chat and we like to play others. That’s what makes pogo ….pogo. Without that you will lose most of your customers. We don’t want to hear don’t be surprised if you get some of these games back. What we want to hear is a date, what games are coming back and sound reasoning as to why you took them. It is not a better site and your new ideas are just that…your ideas. Bottom line is … Cater to our needs or lose us.
    Totally frustrated
    Dirty Don 1111 ( 7 year customer)

    • Hi Don,

I believe you’ll find this just published blog post information and helpful. Thank you for your feedback!

    • I agree. It’s mostly us older folks that play pogo. My husband and I each have accounts and play (or used to!) Jungle Gin, Canasta, etc across from each other. We loved Pogo, now we’ll have to wait and see but I’m not too hopeful.

  • Merry Christmas to all Pogo staff. You guys are the greatest and the work you guys are doing over exceeds expectations. You work so hard to make everyone happy. Thank You for all your hard work.PS I know you guys are getting a lot of pros and cons with Early Access from all Pogo players me included but believe me when I say you are all doing a GREAT JOB!!!!! THANK YOU

    • Thank you so, so much, BVlady45! We love having you here as part of the Pogo community! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  • Can you please keep Mahjong Escape, Quinn’s Aquarium, and Boggle Bash please and convert it to HD? I would really love that.
    Merry Christmas people at Pogo.

  • I doubt this will get posted, but I’ll try anyway….
What happened to the days when you finish all levels of a game and still being able to play the game without it stopping and you having to choose which level to play? I miss the days when you finish all levels and being able to play non-stop without stopping and choosing. What a pain. All these new games and you have to stop playing and choose a level.

  • What does ” Awaiting Moderation “mean? To sensor and change my Words , or not allow my Comment. I have been a member in POGO since 1999 – first with my AOL name but that had to be my AOL master name. Once I found out what that meant I was able to change my name to a player name. I have since changed my player name and E-mail addy a number of times.

    • Awaiting moderation means that there are many comments and it’ll take some time to process. Patience is key. Thank you for being a part of Pogo since 1999!

  • I have been a very happy member of Pogo since 2005 and I’m no longer happy. Everything that attracted me to this site is going away and I dom’t like the changes that are being made. I understand that you must keepup with the times, but some of the changes that have been made, as far as I can see, are unnecessary and for no good reason. So I’m seriously thinking about not renewing my subscription.

  • We need texas hold’en. Without it I do not need POGO

  • Please convert Penguin Blocks to the new HTML5 format! I really miss seeing that little guy scurrying around!
