Blog Post #110 – July 30, 2019

Hello Pogoians,

Happy Tuesday to you all and welcome to the Pogo Insider, the biweekly blog for all things Pogo!

How do you like my new shiny updates to the blog?! I’d like to thank Pogo_Josh for spiffing up the place and updating the blog images!

Welcome to the Construction Zone! Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

  • Get ready to embark on the Summer Vacation Challenge Quest, coming tomorrow!
  • Pogo turns 20 on September 1! In celebration, we’ll be bringing the party to you with loads of celebration. The fun will include a Birthday Challenge Party, many sales, and special community events. More details to follow as the event draws near.

  • Pogo Daily Sudoku -New Badges and levels released today, along with a new Expert Difficulty setting and free Time Freeze Power-Ups awarded every day. You can have up to 3 free power-ups on your account at any given time. Use ‘em up to get more the next day!

New Games

  • Mahjong Sanctuary will be released today! Keep watching the blog for more information.
  • More new games are on the way including a new hidden object miniseries called From France with Love, plus Pogo Addiction Solitaire HD and Bookworm HD. Stay tuned for more game announcements as they become available.

Website updates:

  • We’re offering you more opportunities to play Challenges in the games you love! Starting tomorrow, July 31, Pogo will be increasing the amount of Daily and Wednesday Challenges! Club Pogo Members can expect three Daily Challenges every day and three Wednesday Challenges every week. We hope you have an extra fun good time! Click here for more information.
  • Chrome Flash update –  A reminder! An upcoming Chrome browser update is bringing big changes to how Flash works. Click here for more information if you play Pogo Flash games using the Chrome browser.
  • Internet Explorer 11  is no longer supported for HTML 5 games. Please note the messaging on the HTML 5 games. It reads like this:

  • Flash and Java Retirements – Java and Flash, two technologies that have powered Pogo games for many years, are being phased out across the internet. Support for Java has already been dropped from most web browsers, and Flash support will be discontinued by 2020. Pogo and EA have no control over this change in web technology. Because of this, Pogo is retiring some of the older Flash-based games from Pogo on October 31.
    • For the full list of games and additional information, please click here
    • For games that retired on June 4, please click here.
    • For games that retired on July 2 please click here.
    • To see what games are retiring today, July 30, please click here.

We know some of you purchased Challenges for these games you have not had the opportunity to complete. If you don’t get them done before they retire, the Badges will be automatically awarded to you shortly after the games retire.
Please note that while these games are going away, there is always the possibility some will be updated and brought back later. Keep your eyes on the Pogo Insider for more game news!

A great reminder!

  • For the best possible gaming experience, please follow the Pogo recommendations and specifications. Having a compatible computer will help ensure games run smoothly. If you are experiencing loading issues, I strongly encourage you to check out the computer specifications listed.

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.
