Blog Post #104 – May 7, 2019

Hello Pogoians!

I hope it’s a fantastic Tuesday for one and all.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your patience while Pogo was experiencing technical difficulties that started on Sunday and through this morning. I understand how upsetting it can be to not do what I like to do especially when it’s Badge Marathon and Challenge Quest time. When Pogo is experiencing technical issues, please know that I post updates here on the blog page, on the forum and on Pogo’s Facebook fanpage. Please check those locations out for the latest information as I will be there keeping you posted. Thanks again for your understanding, patience, and support for Pogo.

With the Great Egg Hunt coming to an end Challenge Quest Spring Adventure started, I took to the hills of Sunol Regional Wilderness in the Bay Area for a hike. I wanted to share a photo with you of my hike. The wildflowers are in full bloom right now and I am in gratitude to be able to share this with you.

Speaking of the Great Egg Hunt, we’d love to hear your feedback! There’s a thread going in the forums, so please travel on over there by clicking here. You can also leave me a comment below. What were your stats for the Great Egg Hunt?

And the winning Owl name is….Sir Feathersworth! Thank you to all who took the “What would you like to name the Owl in Word Search Daily HD” poll in the last Pogo Insider. Second and third place went to Hootsworth and Hootsy, respectively.

Please say “hello” to Sir Feathersworth!

Game tips and tricks

With Sweet Tooth Town being May’s Game of the Month, we wanted to offer some badge tips. Please click here for the Sweet Tooth Town Tips article that was posted last week.

Welcome to the Construction Zone! Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

Java Game Retirements – With Java and Flash technologies being phased out across the internet, we will be retiring some of the Java and Flash games on Pogo in June and July. Please click here for the list of the games retiring on June 4. For the July 2 game retirements, click here, and then click here for the list of the games to be retired on July 30.  We know some of you purchased Challenges for these games you have not had the opportunity to complete. If you don’t get them done before they retire, the Badges will be automatically awarded to you shortly after the games retire.

Please note that while these games are going away, there is always the possibility some will be updated and brought back later. Keep your eyes on the Pogo Insider for more game news!

Here’s some information about upcoming updates and changes from recent blog articles:

Mini Mall – Please note, there will no longer be items added to the Pogo Mini Mall as we focus on bringing new content and updates to other parts of the site. Your wardrobe of Mini items will remain available to you, along with tons of items in the store.

Tokens – As many of you are aware, the current token system will be replaced with a new awards system. As stated in a May 2018 blog, I, and the rest of the Pogo team, know this is a point of contention for some of you. For those of you for whom tokens provide a way to project status and achievement over time, we hear you and we understand your aversion to losing this status. Tokens in the current Flash and Java games will remain and will not be removed. We thank you for your understanding. Stay tuned for more information about the upcoming system.

Chat – We know a lot of you guys love chat and consider it a critical feature. We’re aware of the many requests for chat to be updated and to be returned to the side of the game screen. The team here is looking into it. I’ll give you an update as soon as I have one!

Pogo recommendations and specifications for your computer have been updated as of August 14, 2018.  These are the recommended specifications for playing Pogo games smoothly on your computer. If you are experiencing loading issues, I strongly encourage you to check out the computer specifications listed. Having a compatible computer helps ensure the best possible Pogo experience!

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Insider Question

Q. How can I get Chocolate Coins now that the economy has changed in Sweet Tooth Town?

A. To those who aren’t aware, the chocolate economy has changed in Sweet Tooth Town. If you’d like more information on that, you can read an informative article on that by clicking here . As of right now, you can get more Chocolate Coins by playing more levels. If you find you’re not making enough coins replaying levels, charge ahead to new candied frontiers!
I have read all of your feedback and I am listening. I’m taken your feedback to the team and they are actively looking into the issue on a deeper level. Please know your voice is being heard. In the meantime, please remember Chocolate Coins are not needed to obtain Stars. Another tip I’d like to pass along is that power-ups and boosts can be used to help achieve Stars from previous levels. Finally, be sure to utilize each Shopkeeper’s power-up when it’s available to you in levels; it can always help you gain a score advantage!

Thank you to all who are reading the Pogo Insider! Please have a great and fun week here in Pogo. Have an excellent time with the Challenge Quest: Spring Adventure!

  • Would Pogo consider providing an option so we can pick how we want chat names to appear without having to change it every time. If we could set it somewhere so that chat always shows per our choice. As an example, I prefer to see the names in chat sorted in ascending alphabetical order and not by tokens so every time I go to a room I have to change it. Thank you.

  • Thanks for the photo, beautiful view. I enjoyed the Egg Hunt, did as much as I can. I think only had 3 left that were hard to get done. I also helped my cousin get some of her’s done, but she didn’t get all of them done. I just thought I would help her. Now the Poppit Bingo badge for the “Quest” is taking long and I most likely won’t get it completed. I had to send my mother her Mother’s Day card since she lives far from me now. I made the card myself and I am sure she will love it. I am not a mom, but am a proud aunt of 3. So HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the MOM’s out there and have a blessed weekend.

    • Congratulations on getting so far in the Egg Hunt! Way to go, that’s awesome. Thank you for helping your cousin on her Egg Hunt, that is very kind. I’m sure your mom will love her homemade card, that is very sweet of you.
I’m also a proud auntie. Gotta love those nieces and nephews! :)
      Have a great weekend.

  • I don’t know if I’m doing it right. In Phlinx II, I have not been able to play each month. I have not been able to play March, April and now May. How do I start anew in each of the Months or has something
    changed. Please Help

    • Hi FLGirl,
For Phlinx II, starting in March, there will be no longer be a time limit for the March Pharaoh and your progress will not reset at the end of the month
The logic of collecting Glyphs will remain the same.
Thank you for reading the Pogo Insider.

  • Hi Pogo Llama,

The picture of poppies are so pretty, and reminds me of home. Can’t wait to visit there this summer. I went to look at the new flower badge books. They are all so pretty and my favorite flower is the Pansy. Right now, I can’t get a book for 128 gems. Any chance of being able to buy them separately? I know probably not but never hurts to ask lol.

Really excited to see two of my favorite older games coming to HD soon. Rainy Day & Mahjong!!
I did some of the great egg hunt. Those are so pretty badges too but I ran out of time. Too many thing’s to do in a day, but I sure did try.

Since we been having some girly badges, are the guys going to get some manly ones?

Well off to work on some badges. Thanks for all the updates! have a great weekend.

    Aka TheGirlWhoLived

    • Hiya Brewncorn,
Thanks for stopping by this week! Hope you’re having a fun weekend of winning Badges. :)
The Flower Badges will be sold separately at some point, but for now they are only sold within bundles.
Congratulations on doing what you could do and having fun with The Great Egg Hunt!

  • WOW That is a great picture. Flowers look 3D.

  • I just read in the pogo insider that the games in Java that will be retiring and unfinished will be awarded shortly after they leave. What about the one in the albums that we bought will they also be awarded too.

  • I made it all the way. Sometimes frustrating, but I would love to see more of them!

  • Hello Pogo_Llama. I am posting this to you for 2 reasons. First of all, I did make it through the whole Egg Hunt. I am a homemaker/disabled so Pogo is what I do besides housework which suffered a bit during the Egg Hunt marathon! lol… Good thing I have an understanding husband. The second reason is that the picture you posted is so beautiful and makes me homesick! I have been there many times! I was born at Sequoia Hospital and was raised and lived in the Bay Area for most of my life! I miss so many things about the Bay Area except for the traffic. We still have family there so we come down sometimes and the traffic is horrible! Please take a drive on 84 and go to the beach for me. :) We moved to a small town in Nevada and it is not nearly as green as the Bay Area which I terribly miss as well and traffic is nil to none. Okay, I’m done now so thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you have a great day!

    • Congratulations on finishing the entire Egg Hunt! Way to go, Dolphin, that’s great.
I’m really glad my photo brought back such vivid and enjoyable Bay Area memories for you. It is truly a beautiful area. Although, I have found beauty in all areas I’ve journeyed to, including Nevada. :)
Have a great week here in Pogo.

  • That’s a beautiful picture. The egg hunt was fun. I got through all the required ones and a few bonus ones. One thing that I think might make events more fun, though, would be not double stacking them. I like badge marathons but it’s hard when they come up while something like this four week marathon or the egg hunt are going on. It starts going from fun to a bit stressful if you tend to try and get everything done. So maybe if you know you’re going to have the four week marathon going on pick a month not likely to add a holiday themed marathon (or alternatively perhaps more of the games for the marathons in question could overlap?). I’m excited to see the new levels for Quinn’s Aquarium and Solitaire Garden.

  • Could you please make more levels on Poppit Bingo, I love that game. Thank you.

  • Please update Dice City and Pogo Addiction. Thanks

  • California was a family settlement for 4 generations, those are the California Poppies, not just wildflowers. Very protected and amazing in the desert.
Now in Texas they have their own special wildflowers called Bluebonnets. They are
only up for maybe 3 weeks then the pink peonies take their place. As long as we can have
open lots and fields we will be able to enjoy them for many generations.
