Coming Soon: More Ways to Win with Challenges

We’ve been sharing lots of information on Early Access about the ways we’ve been updating Pogo to keep our site up-to-date, and the ways that we’ve been working hard to upgrade your Pogo experience as a player based upon all of the important feedback we’ve heard from you.

Because of that feedback, we know that playing Challenges on Pogo is a major part of that experience for you, and we want to make those Challenges that you complete here on Pogo more fun, exciting, and, well, rewarding. Literally!

Coming soon, every new Challenge that you activate on Pogo – be it a Daily Challenge, Weekly Challenge, Mix-n-Match Challenge, or beyond – will be worth points (called Pogis) that you can earn.

Those points that you’ll be picking up as you complete those Challenges and earn Badges will be putting you on the path to unlock all kinds of unique rewards such as Badges, Avatars, Power-Up Packs, and more. Think of it as taking all of the Challenges that you complete on Pogo and wrapping them up in a nice bow.

We’ll be telling you more about Pogis, and about how to unlock all those special rewards, really soon. We can’t wait to share this new Challenge system, and its winged mascot, with you!

  • why do you have to take away all the card games like spades and jungle gin I really enjoyed them and also the tournaments this is really disappointing to me I always thought you don’t fix something if it’s not broken

    • The Pogo team and I understand you are upset due to some of your favorite Flash games retiring. This decision was made as Java and Flash are being phased out across the Internet. While the retirement date of Flash is stated as end of 2020, please understand that the makers of Flash, Adobe, are retiring features within Flash prior to that. These features may be needed to play Pogo games. The Pogo team is working overtime to transfer over player-favorite Flash and Java games before this happens. This also means they need resources to do so and supporting Java and Flash games are not conducive to that.
For the full information on the retirement of Flash, please read Adobe’s statement here: !=!#s://theblog.adobe.com/adobe-flash-update/
The even better news is your favorite Java or Flash games may not be gone forever. The team and I are here listening and reading your game requests for potential future HD transfer. Games like the player favorite, Jungle Gin, which was released last week. We also have a number of new and transferred games in the works including Canasta, Spades, and Dice City Roller. I will always keep you posted on the Pogo Insider with all game developments.
Thanks again for reaching out to me about your feelings on the Flash game retirements. I am here and listening to you all.

  • i miss all the card games that were on classic pogo i use to like pinocle and canasta and spades i fill cheated

  • Pogo player and member since 2003, I love Pogo but will miss Trivia. I hope you come up with a similar game. RAH1102

  • I’m loving the challenges, but get frustrated when you start a new one before the current one is done and I don’t have the time to work on two at once, or a challenge and a badge album offered as a gift where both have a similar end date to win a badge. If you can’t run them without conflicts, then at least still make the badge available once it is completed. Thx

  • I Have been trying for weeks to purchase Gems. Each time I get to the a rotating circle. I have tried several “Help” but all are for the games. Can you direct me to someone who ca help? Thank you.

    • Unfortunately I’m unable to troubleshoot here on the blog. Please reach out to EA Help and they will be able to assist you. Thank you!

  • What about the ability to chat?? I have not seen any chats on new pogo when will that be brought in?

  • I understand getting “Pogis” or points for challenges that we play, but what about the games we play that aren’t challenges? Will we get points/Pogis for those, too.

  • i agree i think the games are so expensive i was a long time member that had left pogo for a little time and when i came back i was not happy at the changes you have made since ea has come on board. the games look good but they want you pay for all the rahk changes. i wish u had kept some of the older game the same and not made it so pricey for the seniors on a fixed incomepogo is getting to be much money and that makes me sad please dont forget about us

  • What will happen to all of our tokens?
If they are to be taken away, then Pogo should give us the worth points (called Pogis) that you can earn in amount for exchange for our tokens that we have already earned.

    • Hello,

Thank you so much for your question and interest in the new rewards systems called Pogis! (I’m so excited for it!) I saw that many are curious as to what will happen with tokens in the future so I took some time to talk with the Pogo team. As stated in a May 2018 Pogo Insider, tokens will be removed from Pogo games in the future. I’d like to let you all know that the number of tokens you’ve earned during your time at Pogo will still be visible on Early Access; this feature is still in development, but we know how important it is to preserve your token count. The ability to earn more tokens will be ongoing after launching Pogis. We will be slowly limiting the ways to earn more tokens so we can concentrate on the Pogi experience and it’s rewards.

  • When you eliminate your games such as Undiscovered World all the money I/we spent on buying episodes was for naught since as of March this game too will be gone and not able to play again. Doesn’t seem fair especially since if I knew that beforehand would not have bought gems to purchase these episodes. I see also that you are now selling episodes for 10 gems and again as of march will be gone. I too am on a fixed income and will be thinking of leaving it is no longer relaxing to play on your new pogo.

  • Well, come March, when Pogo will be eliminating all the “old” games, I, too will eliminate myself and cancel the subscription…

  • I hope can win some diamonds. And I hope we can win some episodes on the hidden object games too. It would be so nice to play different episodes for challenges instead of the same free ones.

  • Way back before the year 2000 I was looking for a way to play Canasta. That’s how I found POGO. Then it moved to Club Pogo so I joined the club. It has been fun. Once you added Monopoly the World I couldn’t get enough of it. Now as far as I can tell they are both going away. My job is taking more of my time and I don’t have time to play much of anything anymore. So, it looks like I will probably not renew my membership. I don’t have time and the games I enjoy the most will no longer be here. I will continue for now but I’m not sure it will last.

  • So far love all the new changes an now with having Pogis added its awesome. I am a big fan of poppit an bingo poppit. Chat would be great. Another favorite game of mine which is the reason I joined Pogo when Pogo first came out is Tri-peaks. I would really like to see the different decks come back. It was cool reaching a new level an receiving a new deck as a reward. Please bring back the different decks . It also would be nice to offer a one time player name change without being penalized with loosing what we have already earned.

  • I would like my MINI in the place of those new avatars. My MINI is a superior type of avatar. That is one of the major reasons why I play on Classic, because I am greeted by my MINI there. I find the new avatars generic and uninteresting. I enjoy the individualism and customization of my MINI.

  • All the new Pogo stuff makes my computer crash. I am not going to buy a new computer in order to keep playing whatever is left of Pogo after March.

  • Kudos to Pogo for the upgrades made that allow access to games on Android phones and other mobile devices. It is nice to be able to work on challenges even when not at home!! Thank you Pogo.

  • I,for one have been here many years. I have seen other sites and it looks looks like pogo is going to be like them. Games for young adults. We who have been here from the beginning are going to miss the grownup games! With no chat, your new games are going to be boring to us. We loved the chat and not the ones you put on the bottom of the page, that we have to scroll up and down to see and type. I have till aug.to check out your new site. It is going to be hard when March comes. So many people to say bye to. That is going to be hard. No more friendships. I wish you luck on your new site for the future. Games for kids. Forget the grownups who always paid. Good luck with getting the new generation to pay for this, when there are so many sites you don’t have to pay for.

  • I am soooo disappointed with Early Access, games are boring and seem as though they were created for children I probably will not renew my membership. I will miss pogo more than I can express.

  • i would like to keep dominoes if possible i love that game

  • Would like to know…..please and thank you….what is going to happen to the tokens that I have accumulated? Are they just going to go POOF? Or is there going to be some kind of exchange?

  • About TOKENS, To me, they are what I earned winning games; and like other sites where you accumulate reward winnings, I hope you make our tokens into something with value, it would be as if all of a sudden on one of the other game sites, they took away the things we won, money, coins, tokens or what they use as winnings. What will our accumulation of won tokens, over years of playing, be worth in the new pogo? POGIS SOUND NICE, BUT WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE REWARDS WE HAVE ALREADY WON, OUR TOKENS?

  • ALL I CAN SAY IF THAT IS THE ONLY GAMES YOU OFFER ON NEW SITE FORGET IT! YOU WILL LOOSE A LOT OF MEMBERS. PEGGLE SLOT, BOGGLE BASH and countless other games you will indeed loose members. Also if someone is paying a membership fee none of the games you have on site, a member should never have to “buy tokens” in order to play the game.

  • I feel the community spirit that was achieved with chat and minis is something that will be lost in the long run. It has been very lonely playing lately except fo r a few of the flash games you have remaining and they are gone soon. Missing my friends and my chats and comparing minis they were great conversation starters.

  • Trying to keep an open mind but it seems I have spent a lot buying gems to complete albums which are gone. I am hoping that they will use more games as I am so so so sick of mahjong games.

  • so are you going to convert the token to pogis? or is it another thing long time POGO players lose?

  • I don’t understand where my gems have gone to. I had over 100, now I have 34 and I didn’t use them. Will we have poker and canasta games on the new pogo? I notice a few games are disappearing.

    • Unfortunately I’m unable to troubleshoot here on the blog. Please reach out to EA Help and they will be able to assist you. Thank you!

  • I have a desk top PC. Is there any way you can add a button or something that will make the screen the same size as is in the classic pogo? I know you can change the size on the computer but when you use it for other things you have to change the size back to the original setting. It is a waste of time just to play your games. I think you are building the new system for every thing but desk-tops and that most still use the desk top. I have been a member of pogo for 10 years and may not subscribe again — you are building it for all types of users but are forgetting the desk tops where the images are too large and confusing . Just an idea

  • how about keeping chat

  • But no cash prizes. Our subscription should include cash awards. I could care less about badges, avatars or power ups.

  • please stop with the new games that you have to play a level over and over without having to buy power ups this is horrible.

  • we are loosing all of are good games not good to many puzzle games

  • It seems like nowadays, you have to buy gems to get any badges. And free challenges are becoming fewer and fewer. For all of us on fixed incomes, this should be a relaxing, laid back time for us all. Please have more sales on buying gems. In the month of Christmas, there was no sale on buying gems at all. Thank you.

  • Been playing on early access for a while. Getting use to it and like it but don’t see a way to show game awards that are not done. I try for the requirements needed to get them. Is POGO going to add this?

    • Hello daleflavor101!
Great question. To find your successfully completed badges, click on My Profile and then My Rewards. They will be right there. :)

      Thank you!

  • Please work on a pogo bowl it`s my reason for waking up in the morning

  • Most people play games to relax and unwind, in the past the challenges were fun and introduced people to games that they would not normally play. some challenges you enjoyed and continued to play the games and other games we would play just for the badge..
YES doing the weekly challenges are up to the player and not required to be done..
WHY HAS THE CHALLENGES LATELY BEEN A FULL TIME JOB?
I have stopped doing the challenges middle of 2019 because i come her to have fun and relax.. This is NOT my JOB! and very disappointed that Pogo is going in that direction.

  • Will our tokens be converted to Pogis?

  • I only joined Pogo to play Scrabble and you have ruined that game. I do play some of the others because I like word games but you have made them less appealing. I also resent the whole purpose you now have of trying to extract more money from us. Will more than likely cancel my Pogo membership when it is time to renew because you have taken all the fun away.

  • the new reward system sounds ok — however, what happens to our tokens we have built up for years? Do we just lose them or will you give us credit for them. Many of us have played for years and now we will be basically “starting over” just like someone that joined yesterday. Tokens, while not worth anything monetarily are a way to know that someone is a longtime player and a loyal participant. Now 16 to 20 years of playing mean nothing.

  • points are nice, looking forward to this. Will points be awarded like token are now? It’s frustrating to get nice scores and not get anything for doing so.

  • Pogis? How on earth do you pronounce that? Some mod should be able to answer this question.

  • All the games you are getting rid of in March isn’t fair to the ones who really like these games. There are games that have been gotten rid of already and I muss them.

  • Will you be able to win gems on the new points system? Overall it sounds good.

  • Where oh where did our favorite slot game go ? Where oh where.
Please come up with as close to the Momopoly slot game as possible and hurry , please. with drawl is already starting and I do not like to feel like that. A wonderful fun filled, chat room please. Thanks and I will give you 1 more year too, but can not afford Gems so come up with helps that we can earn not buy. Good for us . Bad for you. Loves you all —- have a great year.

  • Will the new Pogis only be available if you play on Early Access or will it also work on the Classic site? I plan on staying with the Classic site as long as I can, until I have no other choice, but it would be nice if the new Challenge system is available to everyone.

  • Why are they doing away with tokens it is a status symbol for most of the long time players ,we spent many years building up our tokens and god knows how many hours of our lives to earn tokens and badges I wish pogo would continue with them .

  • I love these new plans. It sounds like it would be fun! Just an FYI, I too love No Limit Texas Hold Em. Also thanks for taking Jungle Gin into the future. I am excited to try it. If we have badges for that game, will be able to take them to the new Pogo?

    • Why do my comments always take so long for the moderator to review it? I feel like a second class player on Pogo when I have been a member for a lot of years and I purchase things all the time! Please give me an answer.

      • Hi allyann08,

I do love and appreciate your comments so much! They are an excellent source of feedback and I love interacting with you all through these comments. However, I do receive hundreds (yes, hundreds) of comments and I do like to take my time and read each one.
This means that blog comments do take some time to be approved, however, as it takes a lot of time for me to read through the comments that I receive.

Please have patience and understand that I will get to the blog comments each week, though not always on the same day that the blog is published as I need to take time to go through all of them, on top of my other work tasks.

Also of note: I moderate blog comments just as all other blogs moderate comments, from major publications like national news outlets – and Pogo is no different. Moderating comments allows for a safe space where people can share their thoughts without threat of repercussion. Additionally, moderation also ensures content published is of high quality and is helpful in nature. From there, I strive to do my absolute best to represent a balanced perspective (both positive and negative). Repetitive comments (meaning multiple players are posting the same comment), or unhelpful commentary (meaning it’s not actionable and no good can come from it), are not publicly shared. Again, I do read each and every comment that we receive as I go through to moderate them.
Thank you again for all of your feedback. It’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to hear from you, and I really look forward to reading your comments on the blog each and every week.
