Coming Soon: More Ways to Win with Challenges

We’ve been sharing lots of information on Early Access about the ways we’ve been updating Pogo to keep our site up-to-date, and the ways that we’ve been working hard to upgrade your Pogo experience as a player based upon all of the important feedback we’ve heard from you.

Because of that feedback, we know that playing Challenges on Pogo is a major part of that experience for you, and we want to make those Challenges that you complete here on Pogo more fun, exciting, and, well, rewarding. Literally!

Coming soon, every new Challenge that you activate on Pogo – be it a Daily Challenge, Weekly Challenge, Mix-n-Match Challenge, or beyond – will be worth points (called Pogis) that you can earn.

Those points that you’ll be picking up as you complete those Challenges and earn Badges will be putting you on the path to unlock all kinds of unique rewards such as Badges, Avatars, Power-Up Packs, and more. Think of it as taking all of the Challenges that you complete on Pogo and wrapping them up in a nice bow.

We’ll be telling you more about Pogis, and about how to unlock all those special rewards, really soon. We can’t wait to share this new Challenge system, and its winged mascot, with you!

  • Would love to see Fortune Bingo or pogo Bowl, don’t forget chat!

  • Tell us more about the return of canasta, spades, bowling those are the game 90% of the seniors play. They will boycott and leave and this site will be null and void…. its the seniors keeping it going use those college brains you paid for

    • Hi Bill,
Thank you for your interest in the upcoming H5 game transfers! When I have more information, I will definitely share it with you all here on the blog. Thank you!

  • why does all the game have to go away . and I hate the fact you took the mini mall away . pogo sucks now

  • I need Rainy Day Solitaire to act right…after moving a few cards, it freezes and I have to start over…sometimes I have to do this 4 or 5 times to finish a game…will our tokens convert to Pogis??and lastly, I’m not a big fan of the new Early Access but I can suck it up for Pogo…

    • Hello Woobs!

Thank you so much for your question and interest in the new rewards systems called Pogis! (I’m so excited for it!) I saw that many are curious as to what will happen with tokens in the future so I took some time to talk with the Pogo team. You may see this is a copy/paste message and that is because I wanted to be sure to get back to as many of you as possible with the information provided. Thanks again! I love having you as part of the Pogo community! :)

As stated in a May 2018 Pogo Insider, tokens will be removed from Pogo games in the future. I’d like to let you all know that the number of tokens you’ve earned during your time at Pogo will still be visible on Early Access; this feature is still in development, but we know how important it is to preserve your token count. The ability to earn more tokens will be ongoing after launching Pogis. We will be slowly limiting the ways to earn more tokens so we can concentrate on the Pogi experience and it’s rewards.

I’ll have plenty more information on the new reward system, including how to earn Pogis and what can be done with them, in the near future.
Please keep an eye on the Pogo Insider and Blog page for all of the most up to date information on all things Pogo. Thank you for your support of Pogo!

  • I really like the idea of getting points for playing and winning challenges on Pogo. Hasn’t been too exciting lately as our tokens slowly dwindled in value as far as redeeming them for anything. Still, they were good for bragging rights. So now we are going to have Pogis points. I wonder if anyone did any research about Pogis. I use Pogis Grooming Wipes for my dog. I like them very much as she has sensitive skin and they are hypoallergenic. They are perfect for wiping dirt off her paws and odor from her bum. I guess I will just have to laugh every time I earn Pogis Points. I am getting more acquainted with the Early Access Site. Played the new solitaire game on there this morning and made it to level 10. I also like to play the Jigsaw Detective Puzzle Game. I can’t play it on Pogo Classic though, the pieces just won’t move. Hopefully, more members will try Early Access and find that they can get used to it. Change is hard sometimes and can seem painful in the beginning but can turn out to be amazing once the transition has been made. Good luck to everyone in their quest for badges and those fun new Pogis Points when they become active.

    • Hi LibraryMary!
It is also my hope that players try Early Access as well! It’s a great way to get used to something and get in on all new here in Pogo.
Thank you for letting me now about these grooming wipes! That is very informative and also something I did not know. :)

  • I hate all the new things you are changing POGO it has been fun playing on POGO making friend and chating for the last 15 years now it is so bad I HATE what you are doing with POGO that new sight sucks BIG time. PLEASE leave POGO alone. Why screw with something that has worked for 15 years and so fun to play and chat. I’m old and POGO has helped with my mind and giving me so much fun I can not drive any more stuck at home with not much to do and POGO has keep me going for the last years that I have been stuck at home more now. The new sight is to hard to play I hate it.No fun. PLEASE Hear What we ARE ASKING you to do. You Keep saying you are hearing us but you are not.

  • I don’t want to lose my tokens. I worked hard over the years to get them. I would also like to see Texas holdem poker come back. It’s fun playing. with other people. Same with Spades. I will be dropping pogo however in Feb because like one other person said, it is costing too much money to play some of the games if you want to win a badge. If all games get that way, where it’s nearly impossible to get badges without power-ups, well there is no sense in playing them at all.

PS – Spades HD is on the way to Pogo!

  • Miss Jungle Gin

  • The new games are a pain. Snowbirds is for the birds. How old do you think we are. Also, not being able to chat is a big mistake. I like to play Yahtzee and chat, now you aren’t going to have that or the chat. Great we get more challenge points/pogis, but what’s the fun in that if you can’t see other peoples minis, chat with them, etc. If things stay as they are I’m not sure how Pogo will recover from this mess.

  • So you’re removing tokens we use to buy things to replace them with points to buy things? That makes sense…to you.
Sorry, I don’t think I’ll be back once Pogo Classic disappears. Most of my fave games are gone or are going, and the list is games that even interest me shrinks by the month. I realise you wanted to change things to suit EA when they bought POGO but you’ve made it far more difficult to navigate the site, and I don’t feel like wading through 12 screens to find what I want.

  • We want all of our games brought over to the new site. I especially want CANASTA & Dominoes as my husband and I met in POGO while playing Dominoes. Another favorite of ours is Roulette that was taken away a long time ago. Is there any plans on remaking it or any of the Showbiz slots we all enjoyed making tokens through? What is going to happen to all of our badges we earned or are still earning? And our badge books that we purchased? Without Canasta, Dominoes and many others being brought over to the new site, it is starting to look like I may not renew my Club Pogo membership. =(

    • Thank you for the game requests, Sxy!
Badges can be found under My Profile in the My Rewards section. Badge Albums can be found on Pogo Classic. Thank you!

  • I can’t remember, are we losing our badges also? Thanks!

    • Hello aRecipe4u,
Badges will remain and can be found under My Profile in the My Rewards section. Thank you!

  • Are multiplayer games going away? My favorites are Boggle Dash along with Yatzee Party, Everyone Loves Bingo, Sweet Tooth 2 and the 2 Slingo games.

    • Hi Lookingforjoy,
Multiplayer games are not going away. We just released Jungle Gin HD last week and more are on the way including Canasta and Spades. Thank you!

  • So if I got it right we will win Pogis for completing challenges only.
But then, does this mean that we get no rewards just for playing the game, no Pogis for playing just for fun?.
What I don’t like much the “exclusive” (exclusive as in “not for everyone”) aspect of the feature because those players that don’t want or simply can not buy Mix n Match challenges or any extra challenge or that are not into completing challenges but are only interested in playing the games for fun will be excluded of winning any Pogis and will miss on a lot of rewards.

Any kind of reward for “just playing” in the future?

    • Hiya Vane,

As of now, Pogis will be awarded for completing Challenges. More info to come in the near future that will provide much more detail. Thank you!

  • Sounds good but I would really appreciate an answer to my previous queztion so here goes again.. What will happen to our coins from the slot games I have way over 100 million some bought some won so please give me an answer to this.. Can they be carried over to early access or will I receive gems for them? Thank you..

    • Hello UserS9425,

The coins from the slot games will retire with the slot games that are scheduled to retire in march. Thank you for asking.

  • How about more challenges for gems instead of tokens!

    • Hi DWHUD,
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately tokens have no monetary value so transferring them into Gems will not be an option.
Thank you for being a part of Pogo!

  • i wish when i came back in november that you would have warned me about these changes. i just wasted $40 for nothing. i come in to play monopoly slots with my friends and chat. now i find out all the slots are going off the site. you are losing 2 long time players because of this. i went on the new site and lasted about 20 minutes, most of my games are gone, so, so am i

It is my hope that you do not cancel your Pogo membership. You’re an appreciated part of the Pogo Community and it would be a heartfelt loss to us. However, if you do choose to cancel, I suggest that you come back from time to time and check out all the new things we have on the way. As a registered user, you can enjoy some games and be up to date.

The Pogo team and I understand you are upset due to some of your favorite Flash games retiring. This decision was made as Java and Flash are being phased out across the Internet. While the retirement date of Flash is stated as end of 2020, please understand that the makers of Flash, Adobe, are retiring features within Flash prior to that. These features may be needed to play Pogo games. The Pogo team is working overtime to transfer over player-favorite Flash and Java games before this happens. This also means they need resources to do so and supporting Java and Flash games are not conducive to that.

For the full information on the retirement of Flash, please read Adobe’s statement here: !=!#s://theblog.adobe.com/adobe-flash-update/
The even better news is your favorite Java or Flash games may not be gone forever. The team and I are here listening and reading your game requests for potential future HD transfer. Games like the player favorite, Jungle Gin, which was released last week. We also have a number of new and transferred games in the works. I will always keep you posted on the Pogo Insider with all game developments.

Thanks again for reaching out to me about your feelings on the Flash game retirements. I am here and listening to you all.

  • I like the games u can play & relax. Vaults is one like that. Used to play scrabble but it is hard to think when u only have 2 min. I am 75 & cannot think that fast. Still want Pinochle back. Play with people all over the United States, It was a fun game. I see u still have 1 game that uses Java so why can’t Pinochle work with that. I play all games that I can earn tokens. Can’t use them for anythingg but is fun to collect them.

  • Love the new site.. But I do miss the chat.. Can we have it back??

  • so is canasta completely leaving? no new hd version or anything? you dont have a whole lot of games anymore since i first became a member a long long time ago, and now you are getting rid of almost every game i play. If canasta is totally leaving i just want to know so as with all the other games i dont want to continue my subscription. if it will be released again in an hd version like i see jungle gin is going to be then i will continue to be a member but with all the other games leaving i cant justify continuing to pay for this

  • I just want t play nasta beyond March 10.

  • Iam an old Pogo player from your beginning, and I am very upset to see that you are taking away some of my favorite games. I realize the reason for changes, but PLEASE see if you can redevelop Spades, Monopoly the world edition and Texas poker, You have fantastic people working for you, I’ll bet they can performe miracles. • I’m hoping that those of us who have worked hard to earn thousands of badges over the years as loyal Pogo players will be credited for that hard work under the new format.

  • I will miss playing Spades, and a lot of other games your getting rid of, I DO NOT like the game taking up my whole screen, everything on the New Pogo is IN YOUR FACE/UP CLOSE. I will see how it goes but my thoughts are I will leaving Pogo/EA as you don’t care about your customers just making more money off of the perks you want us to buy. NO THANKS

  • I wish every game earned tokens…..it stinks to play the same game over and over and not get anything. Tokens are fun…I love watching them accumulate.

will the new site have tokens?

  • way 2 many changes…I have been with pogo 4 many years and have bought many many gems but this will be my last year of signing on…I am done.

  • Please make activating badges easier. Also seeing which ones needed/wanted The old way is very user friendly.

  • I am going to miss Trivia Pursuit,it a challenge and I love seeing if I am correct or not!

  • Do we get to choose what we want for our award? Personally I don’t use power ups 99% of the time, so they would be useless to me. And I really don’t want an avatar either. But if I can choose my award that would make it better.

    Thanks!

    Suz

    • Hello MomsBassetHound,
More information on Pogis will be detailed out in an upcoming blog post. Stay tuned! :)

  • If you don’t want to play on the new Pogo do we have the option to play on the Classic Pogo once it changes like we do now? I’ve tried early access and I didn’t like it. Thank you for answering my question.

  • I’d just like to say as a long time club member of this site that I am very much disappointed with the removal with alot of the classic games especially pogobowl.

  • Since all these changes came out I cannot find the option to pick two weekly challenges of my own choosing??????

    • Hi netnanny228,

Since January 1, all Weekly Challenges can be found on Early Access as they are H5 games only. They are selected games so players do not have the option to choose them. Are you asking about previous Weekly Challenges?

  • where are the mix and match album on the new Pogo?

    • Hello Playerdonna,

To find Challenges on Early Access, please select “Challenges” from the drop down menu and then scroll down to the “browse all challenges” feature and you can filter out to exactly what you’re looking for.

      Thank you!

  • You have ruined Pogo….I have played for years and this year is up that I paid for, I well no longer be a member. Thanks for the fun years…………….Bye

  • well please concider in our game looby to put it back to ABC order so we can find our friends easier when meeting up with them. please……..please leave canasta… i hate we dont have mini items to buy with our tokens and dress them up. who came up with that leaving anyway. buying gems on a fixed bufget for us seniors isnt working out for alot of us. and our badge books to go. I say If it aint broke dont fix it as my folks use to say. its ok to make changes.but please leave some things the same. we love to meet and greet our friends and make new ones. your making to many changes and the fun is leaving.

  • Not sure if I’ll renew my membership…I enjoy chatting with other players and like playing with another person in card games(sure don’t like playing against the computer). I hope that ability will not be trashed.

  • I have been a member of pogo for a long time but don’t like this new setup you have. i loved the old pogo. not fun anymore. Don’t think i will renew.

  • Glad you finally developed a new system to replace the token system; it’s been a long wait to hear what it will be. I hope it comes soon, along with chat on the side and I’m also requesting you save Pogo Bowl, please. You need to have sports games and there are none on the new site. This is also one of your most popular games and too many players will leave if you don’t save it. Thank you for listening; have a great day.

  • Are we ever going to have chat with the new HD games? We don’t have chat with the early access either. That was the best part of playing. Why are you making it a lot less user friendly?

  • I have worked hard to earn all these useless tokens, I suppose its one of the ways we can show how hard we work at badges, worthless or not I used to be able to purchase somethings like backgrounds or clothing that wasn’t a fee of gems or freebies which often aren’t the best choices … but are you doing away with tokens. If you are, wow all these yeas of working hard at wining badges seems now useless. I have yet to read if you are getting rid of tokens so I thought I’d ask rather then just be upset. For some tokens mean nothing, for some like myself…they reflect hard work to finish challenges and extra badges. I have still heard no update on if there will be the ability to chat…can you state one way or the other if there will be chat still available for those that choose to chat. I have met over the many years I have played pogo some wonderful life long friends. Hopefully it will be available and I missed if you have confirmed chat isn’t “going away”. Thanks

Thank you!

PS – Chat is in development.

  • will canasta and pinochle be back

    • The Pogo team and I understand you are upset due to some of your favorite Flash games retiring.
We also have a number of new and transferred games in the works including Canasta, Spades, and Dice City Roller. I will always keep you posted on the Pogo Insider with all game developments.
Thanks again for reaching out to me about your feelings on the Flash game retirements. I am here and listening to you all.

  • Please do not constantly use quinns aquarium and majong sanctuary as badges there r so many other games like scrabble, majong garden and safari, lottso so so many others not all like those majong game tiles

  • I have a question about the early access games….Is there any way to pick the room you are going to play in or does the game just put you in a room? It was always nice to have games that your group of friends could play at the same time and I don’t see how that is going to happen.

  • Unless I missed it, what will happen to the points we now have? I have over 112 Million and worked very hard on collecting them. I for one don’t want to lose them ever.

    • Thank you so much for your question and interest in the new rewards systems called Pogis! (I’m so excited for it!) I saw that many are curious as to what will happen with tokens in the future so I took some time to talk with the Pogo team.
