Hello mighty Pogoians,

Welcome to Tuesday, April 10th, in Pogo! What a beautiful week is has been here on Pogo already, and it’s only Tuesday! How’s the weather been in your neck of the woods? It sure has been interesting lately, hasn’t it?

Crossword Cove is almost here and we want your help naming the friendly Crossword Cove Crab! What do you think the crab looks like to you? Leave your thoughts in the comments below and I’ll pass them along to the team and we’ll come back with a list of our favorites and run a poll! Yay!

Here are a few images of the NEW Crossword Cove HD!

Mini Mall Preview

Spring has sprung! Well, as long as you’re not in a place where you’ve been dealing with Nor’Easters! Pogo Rachael has dropped by with a preview of spring looks from this Thursday’s release. She also wanted me to let you know that this Thursday’s Collectible of the Month was a special request from the forums: Cheetahs! You’ll be able to see that Mini this Thursday, too.

Welcome to the newest section in the Pogo Insider. Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

Game Updates

Jet Set Solitaire – New levels being planned to be released in May.

Poppit! Party – I have relayed your many awesome requests for more costumes in Poppit! Party to the Pogo team. As of right now, however, I do not have an update for you on this request.

CH2 updates going out 4/24– You will be prompted when you go back to the episode selector rather than immediately taking you there and losing progress. Also, if you hit continue during results scene, dialogue text will be fixed. Sound volume adjusted, too.

New Games

Quinn’s Aquarium – New story-based Mahjong game coming in April.

Crossword Cove – New H5 version coming in May.

Stack’em – New H5 version coming in June.

A Way with Words – New word game coming in summer.

Known Issues

Phlinx II – Diamond Badge awarding prematurely and balls dropping much more frequently in Celestial making game play increasingly harder. The Pogo team is aware of this and working on a solution.

Vanishing Trail and Grub Crawl – Visual updates will be added on April 24th.

Friends List – Users will be able to add/remove users that have space in screen name from friends/blocked lists. This was fixed and pushed out in this morning’s release.

Payday FreeCell – Some users were experiencing a “client out of sync” error while playing a game of Payday FreeCell. This was fixed and pushed out in this morning’s release.

Website Updates

New Pogo Sign-In Experience – Facebook Connect has been disconnected as of today, April 10, 2018. It will end on the mobile app in April. See article here for more information. Please note this only affects those who login to Pogo using Facebook at this time.

New header – The Pogo team has redesigned the header for Pogo.com. While there aren’t a lot of changes, we did redesign it for easier player navigation. Quick tip: To get back to the homepage, simply click on the image of the house. Here’s a picture to visually help out.

Pogoian Ponder

Last week, with the release of the latest Scrapbook Badge, “Brightest Day,” I received a number of very delightful compliments for artist Tony from you all! Indeed it is a very beautiful badge. I’m curious, which Badges stand out to you and have been your favorite visually? Please share in the comments below.

Spring Badge Sale

There’s a super awesome sale going on right now in Badge Central. Have you had a chance to check it out?  If not, start by read this article here  and then take a browse through the many selections of Badges that are currently on sale.  Have fun because that’s what it’s all about here on Pogo…fun!

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. How do I make Claire Hart 2: Secrets in the Shadows full screen?

A. Did you know that ALL of Pogo’s HTML 5 games can be made into full screen? Yes, it’s true and I’m super happy about it as I know it’s been widely requested. The Pogo art team whipped up directions on how to make your HTML 5 game into full screen. Please click this link here and you’ll see an example from (the new) Claire Hart 2: Secrets in the Shadows.

The sun is shining here today and that makes me so happy. I hope the sun is shining by you, too. And if it’s not, I hope that it will be shining very, very soon. Have a terrific week, everyone. Oh! And please feel free to add your suggestions for the crab’s name for the new Crossword Cove HD in the comments section below.

  • Couldn’t for the life of me find the “home” link this morning. Only when I went to just click on the Pogo logo did I see the little house gutton. Moar coffee…

Favorite badges? Any with CATS on them. And it’s always disappointing to find a badge with a cat that has some other item in the pic for the actual postable badge for chat. PUT THE KITTEH IN!!!

Lastly, I’m trying to do all my old Java badges, and got to Flower Daze. I had forgotten what a really fun game it is! Is there any plan to update it to H5? Pleeeeeeeaze??? ;)

  • Crab Name – Claws!!

  • Coralina Smart

  • I like Crusty Crab..

  • I believe that Happy would be an uplifting name for the cute little crab.

  • I’d like the crab to be named Perky….

  • For the crab’s name, the first names that popped into my head were Crusty or Crabby. Someone else posted Barnacle or Salty, and I like those names also.

I don’t care for the new page header. I liked the larger POGO logo all the way to the left side like it was before. It already had the word “HOME” to the right of the logo, and the logo itself will take one to the home page (it still does). If Pogo really feels the need to have a little house icon instead of the word “HOME”, then at least put the house icon on the right side of the logo or down with the words, and make the Pogo logo larger like it was.

I appreciate the badges being re-released… that said, as I stated in an earlier blog, there are just TOO many at one time. I’m pretty sure that most people who are missing a lot of badges (like me) cannot afford that many gems at one time, even with 25% off. If Pogo won’t bring them out in smaller batches, then I at least hope Pogo will keep bringing them out over and over until I can purchase all I want (which is most of them).

Thank you for the heads up that Stack’em will be converting to H5 in June. That gives me a chance to see if I have weekly badges that still need to be done.

Thank you very much for listening to me and keep up the good work on the blog, Pogo Llama!

    • Thank you for your feedback on the header and the badges, nla. I hope you have a great week.
