Blog Post #64 – February 20, 2018

Hello Pogoians!

Thank you for the heart-warming Valentine’s Day Amazing Mini Show last Wednesday.  The Pogo team helping out had a lot of fun and so did I! You are ALL winners.

A reminder, I am away this week so comments for this blog will remain off. I will return next week and the comments will be open. Please enjoy this week’s edition of the Pogo Insider.

Pogo Marshall designed this creative badge for an upcoming challenge in Cookie Connect. It’s for the Zodiac Rat Badge and boy, do I want some cookies after seeing this Badge.

“This design is one of a series of badges celebrating the Chinese Zodiac Symbols (the ones that change for each year). The idea I had was to place each animal on the same pedestal, to give the badges a consistent look. Then I wanted to have each animal holding something that referenced to the game it was going to be released with. In this case, the Zodiac Symbol was the Rat and the game was Cookie Connect, so it was kind of an obvious choice to have the rat nibbling on a cookie.”

Here’s another sneak peek, this time from Tony! This is a look into the next Premium Badge Album which will be PBA 129, due out in March.

“A road trip is a wonderful way to bond with friends. In this Pogo Sudoku badge, 3 girls stretch Women’s Day celebrations into a week of traveling and adventure. Our artists did a great job on the background scenery and sunsets of these girl’s adventures. From surfing and singing at the beach, to daredevil hikes in Grand Canyon, I think this badge beautifully captures those magical bonding moments.”

Thank you, both, for this week’s Sneak Peeks!

There are no new updates to the Construction Zone this week. Here is the most up-to-date information I have available, which was also in last week’s Pogo Insider.

Welcome to the newest section in the Pogo Insider. Here is where you will find the latest on game updates. What is currently “under construction” on Pogo? As often as I can, I’ll sit down with the Pogo team and get the latest info on which games are being worked on and what’s coming. I will always post more details when I have them available. Please understand updates are subject to change.

Please understand that unless an announcement comes directly from EA and/or Pogo, we cannot endorse it as true. All games and updates reported here in the Construction Zone have been given the “go ahead” and are on track to come out. Anything else that is reported is speculation right now.

Game Updates
Cookie Connect – 40 new levels on February 27, 2018.

Jet Set Solitaire – New levels being planned.

Poppit! Party – I have relayed your many awesome requests for more costumes in Poppit! Party to the Pogo team. As of right now, however, I do not have an update for you on this request.

Jewel Academy – 40 new levels in March

Phlinx II – 2nd Dynasty coming soon!

New Games
Turbo 21 – New HTML 5 game arriving February 27, 2018

Crossword Cove – The team has heard your feedback regarding the style of puzzles and know you prefer the US style. However, the US style puzzles format does not work with the current Flash Crossword Cove. As such, the Pogo team has begun the development of Crossword Cove HTML 5. There is no time-frame at this time. This is (still) the very latest information I have on Crossword Cove.

Vanishing Trail – Available today! New Hidden Object Game available today! Game has 12 episodes. This is a Mini-Series sort of Hidden Object Game; the first episode will be free, and the additional 11 episodes will be available for purchase all at once!

Grub Crawl – New Hidden Object Game (HOG) arriving February 27, 2018. Like Vanishing Trail, this game is also a Mini-Series that will have twelve total episodes.

A Way with Words – New word game coming in March

Claire Hart Sequel – New Hidden Object Game (HOG) coming in late March. Click here for a blog article about this.

Quinn’s Aquarium – New story-based Mahjong game coming in April.

Known Issues
Poppit! Bingo – Sound fix coming February 27, 2018. (This is the sound fix that you have all requested, where you will be able to mute the sound but not the caller’s voice).

Website Updates
New Pogo Sign-In Experience – (No new update). New Pogo sign-in experience will be starting to roll out in March and end in August.

Chat – (No new update). We’re reviewing new chat solutions. I thank you for your feedback these last few blogs on your Pogo chat experience! I’ve collected the feedback and alerted the Pogo team.

Every week I answer a non-technical question related to Pogo. We get lots of questions every week, so I try to focus on common themes or the same question coming from different folks. Please ask your non-technical related question in the comments section of the blog.

(For technical issues, please go to Pogo’s Help Page.)

Q. What’s going on with the Jackpot Spinners? Why is it not in the new HTML 5 games?

A. As the new HTML 5 games have been released, and no tokens have been added, a number of you have asked this question. I talked to the team and posted an article on the blog last week. You can click here to read the article. You can also read it below:

Many of you have had questions about the Jackpot Spinner – thank you for caring enough to ask! We know the Pogo Community has fond memories of spinning and winning … it’s important to us that you win, too.

For that reason, we’re replacing the Jackpot Spinner in the H5 games with something new, in the future. Why? Because, to be honest, cheating has become a big problem that needs to be fixed with this feature. And while we’re at it, we’ll keep focusing on new games, updating the classics, and building a newer, better Pogo experience, as well.

We want to make sure you know that when we make a decision like this, it’s always because our #1 focus is to make the Pogo experience better, for everyone. We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments here in the Pogo Insider.

And it’s that time, folks. I hope you have a fantastic rest of the week and good luck to all of you in all your Pogo games.
